NIT Puducherry is hiring one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for an industry-sponsored research project on landslide mitigation in the Department of Civil Engineering. NIT Puducherry Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NIT Puducherry) has released Advertisement No. NITPY/ADVT/R&C/42 dated 27 July 2026 to recruit one Junior Research Fellow for an industry-sponsored research project on landslide mitigation, under Principal Investigator Dr. Senthilkumar V in the Department of Civil Engineering. The post is initially for 1 year and can be extended up to 3 years, co-terminus with the project. Selected candidates may also get the opportunity to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Puducherry, subject to eligibility and seat availability.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering and an M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Desirable Skills: Knowledge of slope stability, rockfall/debris flow barriers, geosynthetics, finite element analysis, and landslide mitigation. Familiarity with numerical modeling software like PLAXIS, ABAQUS, or LS-DYNA is preferred, along with experience in laboratory and field testing.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 35 years old as on the last date of application, as per institute norms.

Salary

• You will get a stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month plus 8% HRA for the first two years.
• From the third year, the stipend increases to Rs. 42,000 per month plus 8% HRA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

NIT Puducherry has not specified a written exam for this post. The selection is based on:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their qualifications and profile.
2. Selection Process/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or phone and must bring original certificates for verification during the selection process.
