National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) JRF/Project Associate-1 Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala has released Advertisement No. F.NITA.20(670-ECE)/2025-26/IRG-ANRF Project/MBS/JRF to hire a Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate-1 for a project titled "Functional Nanohybrids for Breath Acetone Detection: A Non-Invasive Tool for Diabetes Diagnosis", funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The position is under Principal Investigator Dr. Mitra Barun Sarkar of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, and runs for the full 3-year project duration (3 June 2026 to 2 June 2029). Candidates with hands-on experience in nanomaterial fabrication will be given preference. The selected candidate can also register for a PhD program in the same department, subject to meeting NIT Agartala's PhD admission rules.

Who Can Apply?

For JRF (Junior Research Fellow) - Rs. 37,000/month:

• Postgraduate degree in Basic Science, or Graduate/Postgraduate in a Professional Course, AND selection through CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), GATE, or a national-level exam conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER.

For Project Associate-1 - Rs. 30,000/month:

• Four-year Bachelor's degree with relevant experience, OR Master's degree with relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with relevant experience, in a relevant domain from a recognized university.

Candidates with experience in nanotechnology and fabrication of nanomaterials and devices will get preference for both posts.

Salary

• JRF: Rs. 37,000 per month plus 10% HRA (for GATE/NET/national-level exam qualified candidates).
• Project Associate-1: Rs. 30,000 per month plus 10% HRA (for non-GATE/non-NET candidates).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through an interview:

1. Application Screening: Your application, educational certificates, and research publications are checked for eligibility.
2. Interview: Held in hybrid mode (online/offline) on 26 August 2026 at EC004, Micro and Nanoelectronics Laboratory, NIT Agartala.
