NIA Research Assistant IPR Chair Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur is hiring Research Assistants for its DPIIT IPR Chair under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA). The chair was established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, while NIA operates under the Ministry of AYUSH. The work combines intellectual-property research with academic outreach at the institute's IPR and Technology Transfer Cell.

The selected team will support the chair from the Department of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana at the Jaipur campus. This is a research-focused contractual engagement, suited to candidates who can work across field activity, evidence gathering, analysis, writing and coordination. Higher academic qualifications correspond to different consolidated-pay bands in the notice, but they do not change the common research-assistant role.

The chair's programme goes beyond desk research: it links research activity with training, extension and dissemination. You may therefore move between evidence collection, report development, work with student researchers and support for the IPR and Technology Transfer Cell. Coordination matters as much as analysis, because the post supports the chair's overall programme rather than a single isolated study.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial term: the appointment starts for one year and may be extended only if performance is satisfactory and funds remain available.
  • Contract status: the engagement is purely temporary and gives no right to regularisation or benefits available to regular faculty.
  • Shortlisting: holding the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call; NIA will scrutinise applications and may use additional criteria.
  • Assessment format: shortlisted applicants may face an interview, a screening test, or both, depending on the institute's decision.
  • Verification: appointment is subject to antecedent and document checks, and incorrect or concealed information can lead to cancellation.
  • Performance: the institute may end the engagement for misconduct, unsatisfactory work or later discovery of ineligibility.
  • Travel support: NIA will not reimburse travel or daily expenses for an interview or interaction.
  • Institutional decision: the university may accept or reject applications, revise the assessment method, withhold the posts or withdraw the advertisement.

Application Submission Notes

Send the signed form and self-attested supporting records to The Registrar, National Institute of Ayurveda, Madhav Vilas Palace, Jorawar Singh Gate, Amer Road, Jaipur 302002, Rajasthan. Write “Application for the post of DPIIT IPR Chair Research Assistant” on the envelope so the application reaches the correct cell.

An advance scanned copy of the form and relevant documents must also be emailed to iprtt@nia.edu.in. The physical set still matters: incomplete, late or unsupported applications can be rejected. Keep your email and contact details active, because shortlisted applicants will receive the assessment date, time and venue separately.
