NHM Ratnagiri Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 - 8 Posts

The National Health Mission (NHM), through the District Integrated Health & Family Welfare Society, Ratnagiri, has released a recruitment notification for 2026-27 to fill 8 Medical Officer posts at government health facilities in Ratnagiri district. This is a contractual engagement for 11 months 29 days, with potential renewal based on programme requirements. Both posts are reserved for backward category candidates — all 8 vacancies are specifically for ST, OBC, SEBC, and VJA categories. MBBS doctors are preferred, but BAMS candidates can apply if no MBBS candidate is available.

Who Can Apply?

• Primary Qualification: MBBS from a recognized medical university with valid registration in the Maharashtra Medical Council (or NMC).
• Alternative Qualification: BAMS (Ayurvedic degree) will be considered only if no MBBS candidate applies for the post.
• Experience: No prior experience is required (NIL experience for both posts).
• Category: These posts are exclusively for reserved category candidates — ST, OBC, SEBC, and VJA. Open/General category candidates are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age for Medical Officers (MBBS): 65 years
• Maximum age for super-specialists: 70 years
• Age Relaxation: Reserved category (OBC/ST/SC/SEBC/VJA) candidates get an additional 5 years relaxation as per Maharashtra government rules. NHM in-service workers also get 5 years relaxation.
• Age is counted as on the date of application as per the Maharashtra government order dated 25-04-2016.

Salary

• MBBS Doctors: Rs. 60,000 per month (consolidated contractual pay)
• BAMS Doctors (appointed in absence of MBBS candidates): Rs. 25,000 per month + work-based incentive allowance of Rs. 15,000 per month (total up to Rs. 40,000)
• This is a contractual position for 11 months 29 days. No permanent status or government service benefits apply.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is merit-based and transparent, conducted by the district-level recruitment committee:

1. Application Screening: Incomplete applications, applications not on the prescribed format, or those missing documents will be rejected without further consideration.
2. Merit-Based Shortlisting: Candidates will be ranked based on educational qualifications. Experience is an advantage even though it is not mandatory.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present original documents at the District Health Officer's office, Ratnagiri, before final appointment.

• Follow standard treatment protocols and infection control guidelines at all times
• Coordinate with ASHA workers, ANMs, and paramedical staff for community outreach activities
• Report outbreak situations and emergency health incidents to the District Health Officer promptly
