Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: Your engagement ends with the project. Its duration may change with the work needed, your performance or your conduct. This appointment gives you no claim to a regular CSIR or NEERI post.
• Funding and extension: The first offer covers the period for which funds are available. A review committee considers performance before recommending any extension, and an extension also depends on project funds.
• Previous project service: The notice applies the CSIR ceiling of six or seven years, as relevant under its project-staff rules. Your earlier contractual research service in CSIR laboratories counts towards the applicable ceiling.
• Changing projects: If you already work on another project, the authority must accept your resignation before you can join the new assignment. Moving to another project does not automatically upgrade your position.
• Fresh applications: There is no automatic upgrade within the same project either. For a new opportunity, you need to apply afresh and meet the recruitment requirements for that position.
• Confidentiality: You must sign an undertaking to protect the project's findings and associated intellectual property. This is a condition of joining the project team.
• Ending the assignment: The institute may end the engagement with one month's notice. If you leave, you must give one month's notice or pay one month's salary instead, unless the competent authority reduces or waives this requirement.
• Accommodation: You need to arrange your own place to stay during the engagement. Keep this in mind when considering the Nagpur posting.
• Joining and accuracy: Follow the joining timeline in your offer letter. The institute can withdraw an offer if it finds a discrepancy in your application, including after you have been placed on the panel.
