NIT Silchar JRF ECE Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a collaborative project to design a low-cost hemodialysis machine with remote monitoring. The project aims to develop an indigenous dialysis machine using artificial intelligence and has been sanctioned to Nephrocare India Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with NIT Silchar, Assam.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project support: Funding comes from the Science & Technology and Biotechnology Department, Government of West Bengal. The notice identifies Dr. Pratim Sengupta as the investigator from Nephrocare and Dr. Koushik Guha, Dr. Sukumar Pati and Dr. Partha Pakray as co-investigators from NIT Silchar.
- Initial appointment: Your engagement is temporary and initially lasts one year. An extension of up to another year depends entirely on performance; it is not automatic.
- Tenure clarification: The fellowship table also refers to a third project year, although the duration clause describes only the initial term and a possible additional year. Ask the investigators to clarify this difference before accepting an offer.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
First-class M.E./M.Tech, or B.E./B.Tech with a GATE/NET qualifying score, or equivalent qualification, in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electronics and Instrumentation, Telecommunication, Mechatronics, Robotics or Mechanical Engineering.
Age Limit
Up to 28 years (as on 16 Oct 2026)
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD/EWS: As per Government of India rules; the notice also permits age relaxation based on experience and qualification.
