The North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretariat, Shillong is filling up 3 Senior Secretariat Assistant posts on a deputation basis. This is for serving government officers only. The North Eastern Council Secretariat, under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), has released a vacancy circular (Advt No. ADMN-13012/2/2017-ADMN) for 3 Senior Secretariat Assistant posts at its office in Nongrim Hills, Shillong. This is a deputation post, so only officers already working in Central, State, or UT government departments can apply. Who Can Apply?

You can apply only if you are an officer under the Central Government, State Government, or Union Territory Administration and you meet one of these conditions:

• You are holding an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department; OR
• You have 8 years of regular service in the grade after being appointed to the post of Junior Secretariat Assistant in Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200) or equivalent.

Departmental officers in the feeder grade who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation. Deputationists are also not eligible for appointment by promotion.

Age Limit

• The maximum age for appointment by deputation is 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.

Salary

• You will be placed in Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100) of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Pay and other terms will follow the DoPT deputation rules (O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. and amendments).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Scrutiny of applications: The Selection Committee reviews your Curriculum Vitae (Annexure-I) and supporting documents forwarded by your department.
2. Selection on merit: Eligible officers are shortlisted by the committee based on service record and suitability.

The period of deputation will normally not exceed three years.

2. Fill in the Curriculum Vitae Proforma completely and sign it.
3. Get your application countersigned by your cadre or appointing authority.
4. Attach attested copies of your ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance, Cadre Clearance Certificate, and a Major/Minor Penalty Certificate for the last 10 years.
5. Your department must forward your application to the Director (Admn.), NE Council Secretariat, Shillong.
6. Make sure it reaches within 60 days of the advertisement being published in Employment News.
