National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is one of the largest integrated alumina-aluminium complexes in Asia and a Navratna Central PSE under the Ministry of Mines. Advertisement No. 10260213 dated 14 May 2026 covers 268 Non-Executive posts across 13 categories at the Mines & Refinery (M&R) Complex in Damanjodi (Koraput District, Odisha). 20 posts are horizontally reserved for PwBDs (including 10 backlog) and 38 posts for Ex-Servicemen. Selection is through a Computer Based Test, with Trade Test for some posts.

Who Can Apply?

For Operator (HEMM) Gr. III

  • 10th pass with ITI (NCVT/NCVET) in Mechanic Motor Vehicle (2 years) or Diesel Mechanic Trade (1 year)
  • Apprenticeship certificate in MMV or Diesel Mechanic Trade required
  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License is mandatory

For Mining Mate Gr. III

  • 10th pass with valid Mining Mate Certificate of Competency from DGMS (open cast Metalliferous Mines)
  • First Aid certificate preferable

For Jr. Foreman (Mines) S0 grade

  • Diploma in Mining/Mining Engineering
  • Valid Mining Foreman Certificate of Competency from DGMS (open cast Metalliferous Mines)

For Jr. Foreman (Electrical) S0 grade

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (full-time regular course) from a recognised University/Institute
  • Valid Supervisory Certificate of Competency (M.V/H.T/E.H.T) from Electrical Licensing Board, Odisha

For SUPT(JOT) and Technician posts (Operator, Fitter, Electrical, Instrumentation)

  • 10th pass with ITI (NCVT/NCVET) in the respective trade (2 years duration)
  • Apprenticeship certificate is mandatory

For SUPT(JOT)-Laboratory

  • B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry

Age Limit

  • SUPT(JOT) posts: Maximum 27 years as on 10 June 2026
  • Operator (HEMM), Mining Mate, Operator Gr. III, Technician posts: Maximum 35 years
  • Jr. Foreman (Mines/Electrical): Maximum 40 years
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer), 10 years for PwBD-UR, 13 years for PwBD-OBC, 15 years for PwBD-SC/ST
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India directives
  • Land Ousted candidates: Age relaxation up to 40 years as on 10 June 2026
  • Maximum upper age including relaxations shall not exceed 56 years

Salary

  • T0 Grade (Operator, Mining Mate, Technician): Rs. 29,500 – 3% – Rs. 70,000 per month
  • S0 Grade (Jr. Foreman): Rs. 36,500 – 3% – Rs. 1,15,000 per month
  • SUPT(JOT) Stipend (during 12 months training): Rs. 12,000 per month
  • JOT Stipend (during 18 months training): Rs. 15,000/month for first 12 months, Rs. 15,500/month for remaining 6 months
  • Plus all emoluments and allowances applicable to regular employees after successful training
  • Medical facility (indoor and outdoor) for self at NALCO Hospital during training

Selection Process

Selection is through Computer Based Test and Trade Test (depending on post):

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 MCQ questions, each carrying 1 mark, total 100 marks in 120 minutes. The paper has 60% technical (domain-specific) and 40% non-technical (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge, English) questions. No negative marking. Exam in English and Hindi.
  2. Trade Test: For Sl. No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 13 (Operator HEMM, Mining Mate, Jr. Foreman, Technician posts). Weightage: CBT 60% + Trade Test 40%.
  3. CBT only: For Sl. No. 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12 (SUPT-JOT posts).
  4. Document Verification: Original certificates checked for shortlisted candidates
  5. Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME): Mandatory medical fitness check

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy earth moving machinery (HEMM), drilling equipment and mining vehicles in the open-cast bauxite mines
  • Carry out maintenance, repair and trouble-shooting of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment in the alumina refinery
  • Follow safety procedures and DGMS regulations during mining and refinery operations
  • Maintain shift logs, daily production records and equipment-condition reports
  • Assist supervisors and engineers during overhauls, breakdown repairs and inspections
  • Handle laboratory testing of bauxite, alumina and chemical samples (for Laboratory posts)
  • Work in rotating shifts including night duty as per the production schedule
  • Participate in training programmes and skill upgradation activities at NALCO facilities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

10th pass with relevant ITI (NCVT/NCVET) certificate of 2 years duration along with Apprenticeship Certificate; Diploma in Mining/Electrical Engineering for Foreman posts; B.Sc (Hons) Chemistry for Laboratory SUPT post

Preferred Qualification

First Aid certificate; valid Mining Mate / Mining Foreman / Electrical Supervisory Certificate of Competency from DGMS / State Electrical Licensing Board

Required Skills

Trade-specific skill (Fitter/Electrician/Instrumentation/Operator); knowledge of mining and refinery operations; ability to read engineering drawings; safety awareness
