MZU Sociology Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026

Mizoram University (MZU) Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

The Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences at Mizoram University has released a notification for 4 Guest Faculty positions for the semester starting August 2026. These are engagement-based teaching posts meant to cover classes until regular faculty are appointed, or until the semester ends in December 2026, whichever comes first. UGC-NET qualified candidates with an M.A. in Sociology from a recognised university should apply - this is a great opportunity to gain teaching experience at a Central University.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.A. in Sociology from a recognised university.
• UGC-NET: Mandatory. Candidates without a valid UGC-NET qualification need not apply.
• Candidates who completed their M.A. through correspondence courses are not eligible.

Salary

• Selected Guest Faculty will be paid as per Mizoram University's Guest Faculty pay norms (MZU Pay). The exact per-lecture or consolidated rate is not mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in 2 steps, both on the same day:

1. Verification of Certificates: Held at 10:30 a.m. on 23 July 2026.
2. Walk-in Interview: Held at 11:00 a.m. on 23 July 2026, right after certificate verification.

How to Apply

1. Prepare a one-page signed CV.
2. Attach photocopies of your MA Certificate, Transcript, and UGC-NET Qualification Certificate.
3. Email these documents to puitea.ralte@gmail.com at least two days before the interview (by around 21 July 2026).
4. On the interview day, bring all original certificates and mark-sheets from Class X onwards, plus one set of photocopies, for verification.
5. Report to the Department of Sociology, Mizoram University, Aizawl by 10:30 a.m. on 23 July 2026. You will not be allowed to attend the interview without your original documents.
