The Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), the state's nodal agency for implementing the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), has released an advertisement for 18 posts at various Block Mission Management Units (BMMUs) across the Khasi and Garo regions. These are contractual positions that involve extensive travel and night stays in remote rural areas, so you should apply only if you are ready for extensive field work. • Project Executive - Non Farm Livelihoods Promotion (PE-NFLP): 8 posts (4 in Khasi Region + 4 in Garo Region) — Rs. 31,200/month
• Block Functional Specialist - Financial Inclusion (BFS-FI): 10 posts (6 in Khasi Region + 4 in Garo Region) — Rs. 31,200/month

Who Can Apply?

For Project Executive - Non Farm Livelihoods Promotion (PE-NFLP):

• Postgraduate degree/diploma in Commerce, Business Management, Agri-Business, Rural Marketing, Development Practice, or Community Development from a recognized university.
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in livelihoods-related projects or non-farm enterprise promotion. Experience training rural masses is preferred.
• Computer skills with MS Office and Google Sheets. Within 30 years of age.

For Block Functional Specialist - Financial Inclusion (BFS-FI):

• Postgraduate degree/diploma in Science, Business Management-Finance, or Commerce from a recognized university/institution.
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation Programmes, OR in a Bank, Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), or Micro Finance Institution.
• Computer skills with MS Office and Google Sheets. Within 30 years of age.

Age Limit

• You should be within 30 years of age for both posts.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation. Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) get 10 years relaxation (15 years for SC/ST PwBD candidates).

Salary

• Both PE-NFLP and BFS-FI posts carry a monthly pay of Rs. 31,200.

Selection Process

MSRLS will select candidates through a multi-stage process:

1. Preliminary Examination: Tests your verbal, quantitative, and analytical abilities. Held at Shillong. No TA/DA is paid for appearing.
2. Group Discussion
3. Skill Test
4. Personal Interview (in-service candidates must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer)

Screening happens at every stage, so you need to clear each round to move forward.

• Train and mentor SHG members in livelihood and enterprise skills
• Travel extensively across villages, including night stays, to support field-level implementation
• Maintain records and prepare progress reports on livelihood promotion activities
• Coordinate with banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions for credit linkage
• Support community institutions in accessing government schemes and market linkages
