About This Job

Apply for MPESB TET 2026 for serving MP primary and middle school teachers. Last date: 5 October 2026. Apply online at esb.mponline.gov.in.

MPESB Teacher Eligibility Test Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB) is conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 for serving primary and middle school teachers in Madhya Pradesh who have not qualified TET. This special examination follows the Supreme Court order in Civil Appeal Nos. 1385/2025 and 1386/2025 and supports compliance with the teacher-qualification requirement under the Right to Education framework. MPESB has extended the online application period again through its official MPOnline service.

This is a qualifying examination for people already teaching; it is not a direct recruitment test for a new government-teacher appointment. Passing it helps an in-service teacher meet the applicable continuation requirement but does not by itself create eligibility or merit for a separate recruitment drive.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Primary Level: This paper is for serving teachers handling primary classes, including the teacher designations covered by the rulebook in government schools and eligible teachers working at the same level in private schools.
  • Middle School Level: This paper is for serving middle-school teachers, including the notified government-school designations and eligible private-school teachers who have not yet passed TET.

The two levels have separate papers and syllabi, so select the level that matches your current teaching assignment. The result from this special in-service examination cannot be used as a score for direct recruitment to a fresh teacher post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • In-service scope: The examination is limited to teachers who are already serving and fall within the categories stated in the MPESB rulebook.
  • Retirement exception: Teachers with fewer than five years of service remaining may continue without clearing TET under the cited Supreme Court directions, although TET may still be needed if they seek promotion.
  • Identity checks: Aadhaar-based biometric verification applies at the examination centre. Keep Aadhaar available for verification and carry an accepted original photo identity document.
  • Exam conduct: Electronic devices are not allowed inside the examination hall. Follow the reporting window and carry the items required in the official instructions.
  • Record keeping: Preserve your application number because you will need it for later exam-service steps, including access to the admit card.

Application Submission Notes

Use the MPESB service on MPOnline and complete the required candidate profile and eKYC before filling the examination form. Check that you have chosen the correct Primary or Middle School paper and retain the submitted application details.

The official service separately lists a post-payment correction window. If you need to correct a permitted field after paying, make the change by the revised deadline shown on the portal; the portal charge depends on whether you use a kiosk or your own registered citizen login.

Corrigenda and Notices

  • Latest application extension: MPESB moved the closing date from 18 September 2026 to 5 October 2026. The application opening date remains unchanged.
  • Revised correction window: the last date for permitted form corrections moved from 20 September 2026 to 6 October 2026.
  • Earlier schedule change: the application and correction deadlines had previously been extended from 4 September and 9 September 2026, respectively.
