MPESB Forest Guard & Jail Warder 2026 — 1679 Vacancies

MPESB has released notification for 1,679 Forest Guard (Van Rakshak), Field Guard (Kshetra Rakshak), Jail Prahari, and Assistant Jail Superintendent posts under the Forest and Jail Departments of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates who have passed 10th, 12th, or Graduation (depending on the post) can apply online. Last date to apply is 30 April 2026. MPESB Forest Guard & Jail Warder Recruitment 2026 - 1,679 Posts

Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), also known as MP Vyapam, has announced a combined recruitment drive for 1,679 posts across the Forest Department (Van Vibhag) and Jail Department (Jail Vibhag) of the state. This recruitment covers four different posts — Van Rakshak, Kshetra Rakshak, Jail Prahari, and Sahayak Jail Adhikshak — making it one of the biggest hiring drives by MPESB this year. The application deadline has been extended to 30 April 2026, giving you plenty of time to complete your application. Who Can Apply?

For Forest Guard (Van Rakshak) and Field Guard (Kshetra Rakshak):

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 10th (High School) from a recognized board in India.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

For Jail Prahari (Jail Warder):

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 12th (Higher Secondary / 10+2) from a recognized board.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

For Assistant Jail Superintendent (Sahayak Jail Adhikshak):

• Qualification: You need a Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

All candidates must have a valid MP Employment Office registration.

Age Limit

• For Forest Guard, Field Guard & Jail Prahari: 18 to 33 years as on 01 January 2026.
• For Assistant Jail Superintendent: 21 to 33 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: MP domicile candidates from OBC, SC, ST, EWS categories and all female candidates can apply up to 38 years.

Salary

• Forest Guard, Field Guard & Jail Prahari: Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000 per month.
• Assistant Jail Superintendent: Rs. 36,200 to Rs. 1,14,800 per month.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules.

Forest Guard & Field Guard (Van Rakshak / Kshetra Rakshak):

• Height: 163 cm (SC/ST: 152 cm)
• Chest: 79-84 cm (Naxalite-affected areas: 74-79 cm)
• Walking Test: 25 km in 4 hours

Female Candidates:

• Height: 150 cm (SC/ST: 145 cm)
• Walking Test: 14 km in 4 hours

Jail Prahari:

Male Candidates:

• Height: 165 cm
• Chest: 83-88 cm
• 800 metre race: 2 minutes 50 seconds
• Shot Put (Gola Fek): 7.260 kg weight — 20 feet

Female Candidates:

• Height: 158 cm
• 800 metre race: 4 minutes
• Shot Put (Gola Fek): 4 kg weight — 16 feet

Assistant Jail Superintendent:

Male Candidates:

• 800 metre race: 2 minutes 40 seconds

Female Candidates:

Application Fee

• General / Unreserved / Other State Candidates: Rs. 560 (Rs. 500 exam fee + Rs. 60 portal charge)
• OBC / SC / ST / EWS (Madhya Pradesh domicile only): Rs. 310 (Rs. 250 exam fee + Rs. 60 portal charge)

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 4 stages:

1. Written Exam (Computer-Based Test): Objective-type (MCQ) exam with 100 questions for 100 marks. You will get 2 hours to complete it. There is no negative marking.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates who clear the written exam will appear for physical tests as per the standards mentioned above.
3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit and free from colour blindness, flat feet, and other physical deformities.
4. Document Verification: All original documents will be checked before final selection.

• Monitor and prevent illegal activities such as poaching, tree felling, or smuggling within forest zones

• Prepare daily duty reports and maintain registers of incidents or observations
• Escort under-trial prisoners and accompany forest officials during field operations
