Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), also known as MP Vyapam, has announced a combined recruitment drive for 1,679 posts across the Forest Department (Van Vibhag) and Jail Department (Jail Vibhag) of the state. This recruitment covers four different posts — Van Rakshak, Kshetra Rakshak, Jail Prahari, and Sahayak Jail Adhikshak — making it one of the biggest hiring drives by MPESB this year. Who Can Apply?

For Forest Guard (Van Rakshak) and Field Guard (Kshetra Rakshak):

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 10th (High School) from a recognized board in India.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

For Jail Prahari (Jail Warder):

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 12th (Higher Secondary / 10+2) from a recognized board.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

For Assistant Jail Superintendent (Sahayak Jail Adhikshak):

• Qualification: You need a Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India.
• Domicile: Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

All candidates must have a valid MP Employment Office registration.

Age Limit

• For Forest Guard, Field Guard & Jail Prahari: 18 to 33 years as on 01 January 2026.
• For Assistant Jail Superintendent: 21 to 33 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: MP domicile candidates from OBC, SC, ST, EWS categories and all female candidates can apply up to 38 years.

Salary

• Forest Guard, Field Guard & Jail Prahari: Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000 per month.
• Assistant Jail Superintendent: Rs. 36,200 to Rs. 1,14,800 per month.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 4 stages:

1. Written Exam (Computer-Based Test): Objective-type (MCQ) exam with 100 questions for 100 marks. You will get 2 hours to complete it. There is no negative marking.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates who clear the written exam will appear for physical tests as per the standards mentioned above.
3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit and free from colour blindness, flat feet, and other physical deformities.
4. Document Verification: All original documents will be checked before final selection.

• Patrol assigned forest areas or jail premises to maintain security and order
• Monitor and prevent illegal activities such as poaching, tree felling, or smuggling within forest zones
• Guard prisoners and manage daily routines inside the jail compound (for Jail Prahari)
• Assist senior officers in emergency situations and crowd control operations
• Prepare daily duty reports and maintain registers of incidents or observations
• Escort under-trial prisoners and accompany forest officials during field operations
• Follow departmental rules and regulations at all times
