About This Job
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is hiring 1 Young Professional (Technical) on contract basis at the NATCOM Cell, New Delhi. MoEFCC Young Professional (Technical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, has released a notification for 1 Young Professional (Technical) post at the Integrated Project Management Unit (IPMU) of NATCOM Cell. The position supports GEF-UNDP-MoEFCC Projects for preparing India's National Communications and Biennial Transparency Reports to UNFCCC. Initial engagement is for 2 years, extendable up to 3 years (until 2028) based on performance.
Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification (Essential)
- Master's Degree from a recognised institution in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Development Studies or related fields
- OR B.Tech in Environmental Engineering or related fields
Experience (Essential)
- More than 3 years and up to 5 years of post-qualification experience in climate change and related fields
- Experience must be in the relevant field of specialised work with good computer skills
- For PhD holders, up to 3 years can be counted as experience (no additional experience needed during PhD years)
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in project coordination or relevant internships
- General understanding of climate change issues and sustainability
- Familiarity with climate change adaptation and mitigation measures
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 32 years
Salary
- Consolidated remuneration: Rs. 70,000 per month
- Salary is paid through UNDP on the recommendation of the National Project Director
- Annual increment between 0% to 8% based on performance
- Paid leave of 1.5 days per completed month of service
- Female consultants get maternity leave under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961
Selection Process
Selection is done in 2 stages:
- Shortlisting: All applications will be scrutinised and shortlisted by UNDP in association with NATCOM Cell. A list of suitable candidates in 1:5 ratio will be sent to the Selection Committee.
- Interview: The Selection Committee finalises candidates based on interview. A waitlist of nearly twice the vacancy will be kept on panel for three years for replacements.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Responsibilities
- Assist the National Project Director and PMU technical staff in coordinating project activities and tracking progress
- Coordinate with partner institutions for collation of data and information related to project activities
- Organise and maintain project-related data and documentation
- Maintain meeting minutes, progress reports and project study outputs
- Support preparation of project reports and presentations
- Assist in coordinating stakeholder consultations and feedback mechanisms
- Contribute to knowledge sharing efforts and dissemination of climate change information
- Submit fortnightly progress reports on assigned tasks
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Master's degree in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Development Studies or related fields, OR B.Tech in Environmental Engineering or related fields
Preferred Qualification
PhD in relevant field. Previous project coordination experience or relevant internships.
