Ministry of Defence (Indian Navy) is filling up 4 Deputy Divisional Fire Officer (DDFO) posts at Level 7 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month) on deputation basis. Ministry of Defence Deputy Divisional Fire Officer Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

The Directorate of Civilian Personnel, Naval Headquarters, Ministry of Defence has invited applications from eligible officers for 4 posts of Deputy Divisional Fire Officer (DDFO) on deputation basis. The selected officers will serve at Indian Navy fire service establishments. The deputation period is ordinarily up to 3 years as per DOP&T guidelines. This is a great opportunity for serving fire service officers in Central or State Government and PSUs to gain senior-level experience in the Indian Navy fire wing.

Who Can Apply?

Deputation Eligibility

  • You must be a serving officer in Central Government, State Government, UTs, PSUs, or Autonomous Organisations.
  • You must be holding an analogous post on a regular basis; OR
  • You must have 5 years of regular service in Level 6 (Rs. 35,400-1,12,400) of the Pay Matrix or equivalent.

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc) from a recognised University.
  • Diploma: Advanced Diploma from National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur OR Graduateship from the Institution of Fire Engineers, India.
  • Course: Passed Station Officer's Course or Assistant/Divisional Officer's Course from NFSC Nagpur or a recognised institute.
  • Experience: 2 years of professional experience in a reputed fire service.

Note: Departmental officers in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (24 June 2026).

Salary

  • Selected officers will be placed at Level 7 of the Pay MatrixRs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as applicable to deputationists under Government of India rules.
  • Period of deputation: Ordinarily up to 3 years, extendable as per DOP&T guidelines.

Selection Process

Selection is based on the following:

  1. Screening of Applications by the Directorate of Civilian Personnel, Naval Headquarters
  2. Verification of Confidential Reports / APARs (last 5 years, duly countersigned)
  3. Vigilance and Integrity Clearance from the parent organisation
  4. Final Selection and Offer of Deputation

Responsibilities

  • Manage fire safety and emergency response operations at Indian Navy establishments
  • Supervise fire-fighting staff and oversee daily fire wing operations
  • Conduct fire safety audits and inspections of naval installations
  • Plan and execute fire prevention drills, mock exercises and training programmes
  • Handle fire emergencies, accidents and rescue operations within the assigned area
  • Maintain fire-fighting equipment, vehicles and water supply systems
  • Prepare incident reports, safety records and statutory returns
  • Coordinate with senior officers, civil defence and local fire services

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Science from a recognised University with Advanced Diploma from National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur or Graduateship from Institution of Fire Engineers, India

Preferred Qualification

Station Officer's Course or Assistant/Divisional Officer's Course from NFSC Nagpur

Required Skills
