About This Job

Mizoram PSC is hiring 10 Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts across two departments — 5 Senior Horticulture Demonstrator and 5 Subordinate Agriculture Service-I (SAS-I). Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released Advertisement No. 7 of 2026-2027 for direct recruitment to 10 Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts in the Horticulture Department and the Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Department, Government of Mizoram. One post in each category is reserved for PwBD candidates with low vision. Freshers with a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or Agriculture can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Horticulture Demonstrator

  • Qualification: B.Sc in Horticulture from a recognised university

For Subordinate Agriculture Service-I (SAS-I)

  • Qualification: At least a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from a recognised university

Other Mandatory Requirements

  • Computer Proficiency: You must have computer proficiency as prescribed under the Mizoram Group A, B and C Posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
  • Mizo Language Proficiency: You must pass the qualifying test of Mizo Language Proficiency. Candidates who studied Mizo as a subject in Class X (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or who took Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram, are exempt from this test.
  • All eligibility documents must be uploaded by the last date of application.

Age Limit

  • You must be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 January 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates, or as notified by the Government from time to time.
  • For age proof, your HSLC/HSSLC certificate showing date of birth will be accepted.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will be paid in Pay Matrix Level 7 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Government of Mizoram rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through the following stages:

  1. Direct Recruitment Examination (Written Exam) conducted by Mizoram Public Service Commission as per the syllabus published on the official website.
  2. Mizo Language Proficiency Test (qualifying — exemption available for those who studied Mizo at HSLC or as MIL outside Mizoram).
  3. Document Verification for shortlisted candidates.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the MPSC online portal at mpsconline.mizoram.gov.in.
  2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) before 4:00 PM on the last date of application if you are not already registered.
  3. Fill in the online application form for the post you want to apply for.
  4. Upload supporting documents — HSLC and above marksheets and certificates, Computer Proficiency Certificate, Mizo Language Proficiency Certificate, Age Proof Certificate, and any other relevant documents.
  5. Pay the application fee online (PwBD candidates are exempt).
  6. Submit the application and verify that submission is complete after payment. Take a printout for your records.
  7. Government servants must apply through proper channel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance for field-level implementation of departmental schemes
  • Conduct field visits, surveys and monitoring of horticulture and agriculture activities
  • Collect and monitor technical reports, laboratory works and field data
  • Implement government agricultural schemes at the village and block level
  • Conduct field demonstrations and provide technical support to farmers
  • Ensure timely collection and reporting of agricultural and horticultural data
  • Work under the supervision of departmental officers and assist in scheme delivery
  • Maintain proper records of activities, beneficiaries and scheme outcomes

Minimum Qualification

B.Sc in Horticulture (for Sr Horticulture Demonstrator) or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (for SAS-I) from a recognised university
