Mizoram PSC is hiring 1 Librarian for the Law & Judicial Department, Government of Mizoram. This is a Group B (Gazetted) permanent post with Pay Level 8 in the Pay Matrix. Mizoram PSC Librarian Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

The Mizoram Public Service Commission has released Advertisement No. 4 of 2026-2027 dated 22 April 2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Librarian under the Law & Judicial Department. The whole selection process runs through MPSC's online portal at mpsconline.mizoram.gov.in, and you must finish your one-time registration on the same portal before the deadline.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: B.Lib.Sc degree from a recognized University.
• Computer Proficiency: You must meet the computer proficiency standard set under the Mizoram Group A, B and C posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
• Mizo Language Proficiency: You need to pass the qualifying Mizo Language test. If you studied Mizo as a subject in Class X (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or took Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram, you are exempt.
• Documents: All eligibility documents must be dated on or before the last date of application.
• Government servants must apply through proper channel.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age as on: 1 January 2026
• Age relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates, or as notified by the Government from time to time.
• Age proof: HSLC/HSSLC certificate showing date of birth. If date of birth is missing on the certificate, equivalent documents from the competent authority are accepted.

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level: Level 8
• Classification: Group B (Gazetted)
• You will also get standard state government allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) as admissible from time to time.

Selection Process

1. Direct Recruitment Examination conducted by Mizoram PSC. The detailed syllabus is available on the Commission's official website.
2. Mizo Language Proficiency Test — qualifying in nature; you must achieve the pass mark unless you are exempt.
3. Computer Proficiency check as prescribed under the 2023 amendment rules.
4. Document verification — your eligibility, age proof, and qualification certificates are checked. Any candidate failing eligibility at any stage is disqualified.

2. Complete your one-time registration if you are a new user. This must be done before 4:00 PM on 29 May 2026.
3. Fill in the application form for Advertisement No. 4 of 2026-2027 (Librarian, Law & Judicial Department).
4. Upload all supporting documents proving your eligibility.
5. Pay the application fee online. UPI payments must come from the same mobile number used for your one-time registration.
6. Submit the form and check that your application status confirms a successful submission. Without this, your candidature will not be considered.

• Maintain and update the catalogue of legal books, journals, and reference materials.
• Assist judicial officers, lawyers, and department staff in finding case law, statutes, and reference texts.
• Acquire new legal publications, law journals, and digital resources for the department.
• Preserve old and rare legal documents using proper archival practices.
• Run the library's digital systems, including online databases and e-resources.
• Prepare periodic reports on library usage, additions, and budget.
• Supervise library support staff and keep records in line with department rules.
