About This Job

JRF vacancy at MANIT Bhopal for a deep learning research project. B.E/B.Tech or MCA eligible. Stipend Rs. 20,000/month. Walk-in interview on 24 July 2026.

MANIT Bhopal is hiring one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a research project funded by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST). If you hold a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, AI/ML or Data Science, or an MCA, you can appear for the walk-in interview. The monthly fellowship is Rs. 20,000 and the project runs for 2 years. The walk-in interview is on 24 July 2026 at the Civil Engineering Department, MANIT Bhopal.

MANIT Bhopal Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal has invited applications for one JRF post under the project titled A Synergistic Deep Learning Approach for Accurate Scour Prediction Around Bridge Piers. The project is funded by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology and is led by Dr. Rutuja M. Chavan from the Civil Engineering Department, with Dr. Vaibhav Soni from Computer Science & Engineering as Co-Principal Investigator.

The work uses deep learning and machine learning to predict scour (the soil erosion that happens around bridge foundations during floods) more accurately. This is a real safety problem in civil engineering, and better prediction helps keep bridges safe. If you want strong, hands-on research experience in AI applied to infrastructure, this is a good place to start.

MANIT Bhopal is one of India's National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and an Institute of National Importance. A JRF role here is a strong launchpad if you plan to move into an M.Tech, a PhD or a full-time research career, because you work directly with faculty on a government-funded project and build real skills in AI and data science that employers value.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence & Data Science — or a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) or an equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Preferred experience: Candidates with hands-on experience in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Python programming, or Data Analytics will be given preference.
  • GATE: A valid GATE score is not compulsory, but if you have one, mention the score and validity in your form — it adds weight to your application.
  • Nationality: You must be an Indian national.

Freshers are welcome to apply — the essential requirement is the degree, and experience only adds preference. So final-year pass-outs with the right degree and good AI/ML skills have a fair chance.

Age Limit

  • Preferably up to 32 years as on the date of the interview (24 July 2026).

Salary

  • You will get a monthly fellowship of Rs. 20,000, paid as per MPCST norms.
  • The position runs for the 2-year project period and is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — it is a research fellowship, not a regular MANIT job, and gives no claim to permanent appointment.
  • The fellowship can be ended with a 30-day notice if your work is not found satisfactory, so this is a performance-based research role.

Application Fee

  • There is no application fee mentioned in the notification for this position.
