Ladakh Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment 2026 - 40 Posts

Ladakh Police Subordinate Service Recruitment Board (LPSSRB) has issued Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2026 dated 04 June 2026 for Sub-Inspector posts in the Executive, Armed/IRP, SDRF, Women and Border Battalion streams. This recruitment is only for Ladakh domicile candidates, and the selected person can be posted anywhere in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Qualification: You must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Domicile and Special Conditions

Age Limit

  • You should be at least 18 years old as on 01 January 2026.
  • Because of the one-time relaxation, the upper age limit is 30 years for general candidates.
  • SC / ST / ALC relaxation: These categories get 5 years relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Military service can be deducted from actual age, and the remaining age must not exceed the limit by more than 3 years.

  • Pay level: Level-6C
  • Salary range: Rs. 35,700 to Rs. 1,13,100 per month

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates

  • Height: 162 cm minimum
  • Chest: 81 cm unexpanded and 85 cm expanded
  • Long race: 1600 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds
  • Long jump: 12 feet in three attempts
  • Push-ups: 20

For Female Candidates

  • Height: 152 cm minimum
  • Long race: 1200 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds
  • Long jump: 9 feet in three attempts
  • Shot put: 4 kg to 14.5 feet in three attempts

  • Unreserved / EWS: Rs. 700
  • SC / ST / ALC: Rs. 600
  • Payment mode: Online only through UPI, net banking, or credit/debit card on the recruitment portal.
  • The fee is non-refundable, except excess-payment disputes handled under the recruitment rules.

Selection Process

The selection process has physical tests, document checks, written exam, bonus marks, and medical checks. You must clear the qualifying physical stages before moving ahead.

  1. Physical Standard Test (PST): Height and chest measurements are checked as per the rules.
  2. Physical Endurance Test (PET): Race, long jump, push-ups for male candidates, and shot put for female candidates.
  3. Document Verification: Graduation, matriculation, domicile, category, desired qualification, NCC, and ESM documents are checked.
  4. Written Examination: MCQ paper for 100 marks with 100 questions in 80 minutes. There is no negative marking.
  5. Desired Qualification Test: Only for candidates who claimed an eligible desired qualification in the online form.
  6. Medical Examination and Character Verification: These are done after provisional selection.

  2. Upload your passport photo in JPG/JPEG format within the size limit.
  3. Fill in your personal, contact, district, and exam-centre details.
  4. Select your category, desired qualification, NCC certificate status, and ex-servicemen status correctly.
  5. Upload proof of date of birth, domicile, graduation qualification, and signature.
  6. Pay the application fee online and submit the form before 07 July 2026.
  7. Take a printout of the submitted form because it may be needed during later stages.

Exam centres: The recruitment process will be held at Leh and Kargil, and you can choose your preferred centre for the physical test and written test while applying. The centre cannot be changed after the closing date. LPSSRB also mentions a Transparent Recruitment Process using digital measurement machines, RFID timing for race, laser-based distance measurement, biometrics, CCTV, and OMR processing.
