Who Can Apply?

Workshop Superintendent

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Mechatronics from a recognized university
• Minimum marks: 50% aggregate

Workshop Instructor

• Option 1: 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 50% marks from a recognized institute
• Option 2: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with at least 50% marks from a recognized university

Domicile: You must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to apply for these posts.

Age Limit

Your age is calculated as on 01 January 2026:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age (Open Merit): 40 years
• Physically Challenged (PwD): 42 years
• SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/OBC/EWS/LAC/IB: 43 years
• In-service State University employees (UT of J&K): 50 years

Salary

• Workshop Superintendent: Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400 per month (Pay Level 07)
• Workshop Instructor: Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400 per month (Pay Level 06)
• In addition, you will get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per UT of J&K government rules

• PwD candidates: No fee — persons with benchmark disabilities are fully exempted

Selection Process

1. OMR-Based Written Test — the university will conduct an OMR-based screening test or written examination. The syllabus will be notified separately on the university website. Candidature is accepted provisionally at this stage.
2. Document Verification — shortlisted candidates must submit the printout of the online application form along with all original documents and self-attested copies. Detailed scrutiny of eligibility and documents happens at this stage.
