KSRTC PRO and Executive Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), the statutory bus corporation set up under the Road Transport Corporations Act, 1950, is filling two senior posts: a Public Relations Officer and an Executive Engineer (Civil). The hiring is run for KSRTC by the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Thiruvananthapuram, which handles the online applications.

Both jobs are contract posts for an initial one year. The engineering post mainly targets retired Executive Engineers and higher officers from PWD or CPWD, while the PR post suits working journalists and media professionals who write well in Malayalam and English.

• Public Relations Officer: a media and communications role based in Thiruvananthapuram, suited to people from print journalism and public relations who can handle the corporation's media work.
• Executive Engineer (Civil): a buildings and works role aimed at senior civil engineers who have built major buildings. Officers retired from government service are paid on re-employment terms.

Post-wise Duties

Public Relations Officer

You will prepare news items, press releases, news stories and advertisements for KSRTC in both Malayalam and English. The job involves extensive travel across Kerala, so expect to be on the road often.

Executive Engineer (Civil)

You will look after the design and construction of KSRTC buildings. The notice gives extra weight to people who know multi-storeyed building design, AutoCAD, Excel, project management software, PRICE estimates, measurement books, e-tendering, bill preparation and PMC supervision.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: One year to begin with; the engineering post can be extended based on your performance.
• Posting: The PRO is posted in Thiruvananthapuram; the Executive Engineer can be posted anywhere in Kerala and must travel within and outside the state.
• Working hours: Apply only if you are willing to work beyond office hours.
• Language: You must read, write and speak English and Malayalam fluently.
• Relaxation for top engineers: For the Executive Engineer post, the experience and age conditions may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified candidates.
• Equivalent qualifications: If your degree is an equivalent one, you must upload an equivalency certificate from the competent authority, or your application will not be considered.
• Experience proof: Appointment letters, salary certificates and pay slips are not accepted as experience proof. If you are still working, upload an affidavit giving your employer, designation, period and duties.
• Interview travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
