Karnataka State Police (KSP) Cyber Security and Forensic Analyst Recruitment 2026 - 11 Posts

The Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City (under the Government of Karnataka, Police Department) has invited applications for 11 technical posts to strengthen the eight Cyber Crime Police Stations in Bengaluru. The Appointment Committee, chaired by the Joint Police Commissioner (Crime), Bengaluru City, will select candidates on a contract basis. This is a contract job for 11 months, and only a monthly cumulative salary is paid — no other allowances.

Who Can Apply?

For Cyber Security Analyst (8 posts):

  • Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / BCA / M.Sc / MCA in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, or any equivalent / relevant degree.
  • Aggregate Marks: Minimum 60% aggregate.
  • Desired Certifications: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate course in Information Security or Cyber Security, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), (ISC)² CISSP, Certificate Course on Cyber Security & Cloud Computing, GIAC (GCIH, GCFE, GASF, GCFA).
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English & Kannada.

For Digital Forensic Analyst (3 posts):

  • Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / BCA / M.Sc / MCA in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, or any equivalent / relevant degree.
  • Aggregate Marks: Minimum 60% aggregate.
  • Desired Certifications: Certificate Course in Cyber Law / Cyber Forensic, EC-Council CHFI, Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE).
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English & Kannada.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 25 and 35 years old.
  • Age and eligibility will be considered as on the last date of application.

Salary

  • Cyber Security Analyst: Rs. 75,000 per month (cumulative)
  • Digital Forensic Analyst: Rs. 50,000 per month (cumulative)
  • No other allowances, increment, promotion, or pension benefits are paid. Only 1 day of casual leave per month is allowed.

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

  1. Document and Resume Screening: The Selection Committee, chaired by the Addl. Commissioner of Police (Crime), will shortlist candidates based on qualification, experience and certifications.
  2. Final Selection: Appointment is made on a contract basis for 11 months, extendable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.

The selected candidate must execute the agreement on a Rs. 100 stamp paper within 7 days of receiving the appointment order.

  5. Fill the Evaluation Sheet in Excel format with all columns completed.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac), network configurations, and architectures to identify attacks and vulnerabilities
  • Analyse traffic at application and network layer using network capturing tools to detect anomalies
  • Examine security logs from firewalls, IPS and IDS to investigate cyber incidents
  • Carry out acquisition and forensic analysis on mobile phones, hard disks, and SSDs
  • Perform memory forensics, extract artefacts, and document the chain of custody for digital evidence
  • Investigate file systems (FAT, NTFS, exFAT, HFS) and analyse data from conventional and smart phones
  • Apply knowledge of cryptography, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and incident handling procedures (NIST, SWGDE)
  • Prepare detailed forensic reports and present findings to support cybercrime investigations

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

B.E / B.Tech / BCA / M.Sc / MCA in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, or equivalent (minimum 60% aggregate)

Preferred Qualification

Certifications: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CEH, CISSP, GIAC (GCIH/GCFE/GASF/GCFA), CHFI, CFCE, CCE, ACE, EnCE, PG Diploma in Information Security / Cyber Security

Required Skills

Cyber security, digital forensics, network analysis, malware analysis, memory forensics, cryptography, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, mobile forensics, English and Kannada communication, Python scripting (added advantage)
