Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- Qualification: You must have passed PUC, Class 12, or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- Equivalent routes: Class 12 from CBSE/ICSE, other state boards, NIOS, JOC/JLC or other approved equivalent qualifications are accepted as per Karnataka government rules.
- Language: You should be able to work in Kannada. The notice also refers to Kannada language rules for candidates who did not study Kannada as required.
- Fitness: You must meet the physical standard and endurance test requirements given in the notification.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years as on the closing date of application.
- Direct general candidates: Up to 33 years.

Physical Standards
For Male Candidates
- Height: 168 cm for general male candidates.
- Chest: 86 cm with minimum 5 cm expansion.
- Tribal male candidates: height 155 cm and chest standards as mentioned in the notice.
For Female and Third Gender Candidates
- Height: 157 cm for general female and third gender candidates.
- Weight: 45 kg for female and third gender candidates.
- Tribal women candidates: height 150 cm.
Endurance Test
- Male candidates: 1600 metres run in 6 minutes 30 seconds; high jump 1.20 metres or long jump 3.80 metres; shot put 7.26 kg to 5.60 metres.
- Female and third gender candidates: 400 metres run in 2 minutes; high jump 0.90 metres or long jump 2.50 metres; shot put 4 kg to 3.75 metres.

- SC / ST / Category-I / Ex-Servicemen / Third Gender candidates: Rs. 500

Selection Process
The selection is done through written exam, physical tests, medical check and document verification:
- Written Exam (Offline OMR): 100 questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes. The written exam date mentioned in the notice is 02 August 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon.
- Shortlisting for Physical Tests: Candidates are shortlisted from written exam merit for Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test as per the ratio in the notice.
- Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test: Height, chest, weight, running, jumping and shot put standards are checked.
- Document Verification: Education, age, category, identity, Kannada language and service documents are checked.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must meet eyesight, hearing, chest X-ray and other medical standards. Deformities such as knock knees, flat foot, bow legs and similar conditions can lead to disqualification.

- Prepare basic reports, duty notes and station records as instructed
- Follow Karnataka Police discipline, fitness and uniform standards

Exam Pattern
