Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi) is an autonomous educational institution under the Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal, established in 1960 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute is headquartered in Agra with eight centres across India. Through Advertisement No. 02/2026 dated 04 April 2026, KHS has invited online applications for direct recruitment to 9 teaching posts across its headquarters, existing centres, and future centres.

Who Can Apply?

Professor (Education)

• Ph.D. in Education or concerned/allied discipline
• Published work of high quality with minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018
• Postgraduate degree in Science/Mathematics/Social Science/Commerce/Languages with 55% marks
• M.Ed/M.A. in Education with minimum 55% marks
• 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor
• Evidence of having successfully guided a doctoral candidate

OR an outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 10 years of experience with significant contribution to the discipline.

Professor (Other Disciplines)

• Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Published work of high quality with minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018
• 10 years of teaching experience in university/college
• Evidence of having successfully guided a doctoral candidate

Associate Professor

• A good academic record with Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Master's Degree with at least 55% marks
• 8 years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor
• Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018

Assistant Professor

• Master's Degree with 55% marks in Education or concerned/relevant/allied subject
• Must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or a similar test like SLET/SET
• OR hold a Ph.D. awarded as per UGC regulations (2009 or 2016)
• OR Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in top 500 by QS, THE, or ARWU

For Education discipline: M.Ed/M.A. in Education with 55% marks is also required, along with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per NCTE Regulation 2014/2019.

Desirable qualifications for Assistant Professor: Research degree or published research work, knowledge of methodology of language teaching, knowledge of online teaching and basic computer applications, and teaching experience in the concerned subject.

Age Limit

• Age limit: As per UGC norms (no specific upper age limit prescribed for faculty positions)
• Age as on: 04 May 2026 (last date of online application)
• Relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as per UGC/Government of India guidelines

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level-14 — Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month
• Associate Professor: Pay Level-13A — Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100 per month
• Assistant Professor: Pay Level-10 — Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month
• Plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other allowances as per Central Government rules

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of Applications — Your application and documents will be reviewed for eligibility
2. OMR-Based MCQ Exam (for Assistant Professor / Pay Level-10 posts only) — Multiple-choice questions. If applications are fewer than 15, the exam may be skipped and candidates called directly for interview
3. Shortlisting — Based on assessment criteria including research aptitude and writing skills
4. Video Presentation & PPT Presentation — To assess research aptitude, writing skills, and understanding of abilities
5. Document Verification — All original certificates will be checked
6. Face-to-Face Interview — For all shortlisted candidates

2. Register yourself on the Samarth portal and get your registration number
3. Select the post you want to apply for and fill the online application form with all personal, educational, and experience details
4. Pay the application fee online (you can use the same registration to apply for multiple posts, but fee must be paid separately for each)
5. Upload scanned copies of all essential documents (high-quality scans required)
6. Submit the online application before 04 May 2026, 11:59 PM (IST)
7. Take a printout of the application form, sign it, and send the hard copy with self-attested copies of all supporting documents to: The Registrar, Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Hindi Sansthan Marg, Agra-282002 (U.P.)
8. Send the hard copy via Registered Post / Speed Post only — it must reach within 10 days of the online deadline (i.e., by 15 May 2026)

Important: Both online submission and hard copy are mandatory. Failure to complete either will result in rejection. Candidates already in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

• Guide M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars in their research work and supervise their dissertations
• Participate in academic administration, including departmental meetings, examination duties, and committee work
• Assist in the development and implementation of Hindi teaching-training programmes at KHS centres across India
• Contribute to the promotion and propagation of Hindi language teaching at national and international levels
• Prepare study materials and training modules for Hindi as a Second Language (HSL) programmes
