Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a PUC (12th) pass or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Karnataka government (CBSE/ICSE Class 12, NIOS Senior Secondary, or a two-year ITI course combined with SSLC and English/Kannada plus one subject).
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.
- Reserved Category Benefits: Rural candidates, Kannada-medium students, ex-servicemen, project-displaced persons, and third gender candidates get reservation as per Karnataka government rules — check the notification for the exact category your certificates fall under.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 40 years old for General Merit candidates.
- Age Relaxation: Category 2A/2B/3A/3B candidates can apply up to 43 years. SC/ST and Category-1 candidates can apply up to 45 years.
Salary
- Selected candidates get a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 34,100 to Rs. 67,600 per month as per Karnataka government pay scales.
- You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka government rules.
- Newly recruited candidates are on probation for 2 years and are eligible for the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

Selection Process
Your selection happens through a competitive written exam:
- Written Exam (Offline OMR-based): Paper-1 and Paper-2, each with 100 questions for 100 marks, on 04 October 2026 (Paper-1: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM, Paper-2: 2:30 PM-4:30 PM). Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies per wrong answer. You need a minimum of 35% marks to qualify for selection.
- Kannada Language Test: Required only if you have not studied Kannada as a first or second language up to SSLC level. You need at least 50 out of 150 marks to qualify (date to be announced later); marks from this test are not added to your merit rank, it is only a qualifying test.
- Document Verification: You must bring your original certificates, category proof, and marks cards when called for verification.
You can download your exam admit card from the KEA website closer to the exam date — no admit cards are sent by post.

Responsibilities
- Maintain land records and village revenue accounts
- Update crop and land survey details for the assigned village
- Issue caste, income, and residence certificates to villagers
- Collect land revenue and other government dues
- Assist in implementing government welfare schemes at the village level
- Report natural calamities, crop damage, and local issues to higher authorities
- Maintain birth, death, and other vital records
- Coordinate with the Gram Panchayat and Tahsildar office on administrative matters
