Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 - 767 Posts

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released a notification for 767 Teacher posts in residential schools run by the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Societies' Society (KREIS) — including Morarji Desai, Kittur Rani Chennamma, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Smt. Indira Gandhi, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar residential schools. The vacancies cover 8 subjects: Kannada, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer Science, and Physical Education, and include 42 backlog posts held over from an earlier Hindi-medium recruitment round. Most subjects require a TET Paper-2 or CTET qualification along with a written competitive exam — both freshers and working teachers who meet the eligibility criteria can apply.

Vacancy Breakdown by Discipline

  • Social Science Teacher: 154 posts (150 regular + 4 backlog)
  • English Language Teacher: 108 posts (100 regular + 8 backlog)
  • Science Teacher: 106 posts (100 regular + 6 backlog)
  • Kannada Language Teacher: 103 posts (100 regular + 3 backlog)
  • Mathematics Teacher: 103 posts (100 regular + 3 backlog)
  • Physical Education Teacher: 81 posts (75 regular + 6 backlog)
  • Computer Science Teacher: 57 posts (50 regular + 7 backlog)
  • Hindi Language Teacher: 55 posts (50 regular + 5 backlog)

The 42 backlog posts are reserved for candidates who missed out in the earlier Hindi-medium recruitment cycle.

  • You need a Bachelor's degree with the relevant subject as one of your optional subjects, plus a B.Ed degree with that subject as your teaching method.
  • You must also be TET Paper-2 (Karnataka School Education Dept.) or CTET qualified — only TET/CTET qualified candidates can apply for these 6 posts.
  • Kannada language study up to SSLC level (or an equivalent Kannada test) is compulsory unless you fall under an exempted category.
