Kalakshetra Foundation is hiring 5 teachers for its Besant Arundale Senior Secondary School (BASS) in Chennai on a contract basis. Kalakshetra Foundation, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has released a notification to fill 5 teaching posts at Besant Arundale Senior Secondary School in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. The recruitment covers three school teacher posts (PGT, TGT, SGT) and two Montessori posts. All posts are purely on a contract basis and selection is through a demo class plus interview. Candidates awaiting their final B.Ed results can also apply.

Who Can Apply?

PGT - Business Studies & Accountancy (1 post)

• Essential: Master's degree in Commerce (Business Studies / Accountancy) with B.Ed from a recognised University
• Desirable: 3 years of teaching experience as a PGT

TGT - Maths (1 post)

• Essential: Degree in Maths with B.Ed from a recognised University
• Desirable: Post-graduation in Maths and 3 years of teaching experience as a TGT

SGT - Tamil (1 post)

• Essential: Degree in Tamil with B.Ed from a recognised University
• Desirable: 3 years of teaching experience as SGT

Montessori Teacher (1 post)

• Essential: Any degree with a valid Montessori Diploma (AMI / IMTC)
• Desirable: 3 years of teaching experience in a Montessori school

Montessori Assistant (1 post)

• Essential: Any degree with a Montessori Course Certificate
• Desirable: 3 years of teaching experience in a Montessori school

Other Requirements

• Proficiency in teaching in English is essential for all posts
• Candidates awaiting their final B.Ed examination results can also apply

Age Limit

• Age will be calculated as on 01 March 2026
• The notification does not mention a specific minimum or maximum age limit. Age details must be filled in the application form.

Salary

• Salary will be decided based on your performance and length of teaching experience
• All posts are offered purely on a contract basis

Selection Process

There is no written exam. Selection has two stages:

1. Demo Class: Shortlisted candidates have to present a demo class before the Selection Committee
2. Interview: Interview with the Selection Committee

4. Paste a recent passport-size photograph on the form

• Teach the assigned subject (Business Studies, Accountancy, Maths, Tamil or Montessori curriculum) to school students

• Evaluate student assignments, unit tests and term examinations
• Guide and mentor students in academic and co-curricular matters
• Maintain student records, attendance and progress reports
• Attend parent-teacher meetings and school events as required
