Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) Sanitary Sub Inspector Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Jamnagar Municipal Corporation has released this notification to fill 1 vacant Sanitary Sub Inspector Class-3 post lying vacant in its administrative and technical cadre (Advt. No. JMC/06/2025-26). This recruitment is part of a state-wide Special Recruitment Drive for Divyang (PwBD) candidates under a Gujarat Government resolution dated 17 September 2021, which reserves 4% of municipal posts for persons with disabilities as required by the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. Only candidates holding a valid disability certificate and UDID card can apply — general category candidates are not eligible to apply under this drive. Selection is through a competitive written exam conducted by JMC's own Staff Selection Committee.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed 12th standard (HSC) and hold a government-recognised Sanitary Inspector (SI) Diploma or Course.
• Eligibility Category: Only Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) with at least 40% disability and a valid UDID (Unique Disability Identity Card) can apply. Eligible disability types for this post include low vision, deaf/hard of hearing, locomotor disabilities (one arm, both arms, one leg, both legs, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims) and certain multiple disabilities.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen, or a Nepal/Bhutan subject, or a Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1 January 1962, or an eligible migrant from Pakistan/Myanmar/Sri Lanka/East African countries with a Government of India eligibility certificate.
• Language: You should have working knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi and English, with command over Gujarati.

Reservation: This single post is reserved for PwBD candidates only. The reservation applies uniformly across General, SC, ST, SEBC and EWS categories — only your disability status decides your eligibility for this drive, not your social category. Existing JMC contract employees who fall in the PwBD category can also apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old, calculated as on 16 August 2026 (the last date to apply).
• Age Relaxation: PwBD candidates get a maximum age relaxation of up to 10 years over the standard age limit, but your final age cannot exceed 45 years, whichever category (General, SC, ST, SEBC or EWS) you belong to.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month under Pay Level L-5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• During the 3-year probation period, you will get a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 40,800 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Gujarat Municipal Corporation rules once you are confirmed in service.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Competitive Written Exam: Conducted by JMC's Staff Selection Committee, constituted under the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporation Act, 1949. The detailed syllabus and exam pattern will be published separately on JMC's website.
2. Document Verification: You must produce your original disability certificate, UDID card and other supporting documents for verification.
