CGSSB, on behalf of the Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh, is hiring 2,292 Assistant Teachers (Sahayak Shikshak) for government schools across the state. Chhattisgarh Assistant Teacher (Sahayak Shikshak) Recruitment 2026 - 2292 Posts

The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh has released a detailed advertisement for 2,292 Assistant Teacher posts in government schools, to be filled through a written recruitment exam called LSAT26, conducted by the Chhattisgarh Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (CG Vyapam/CGSSB). The posts are split between the E-Cadre (general districts) and the T-Cadre (Bastar and other Scheduled Area districts). No prior teaching experience is required — this is a direct recruitment for candidates who already hold a teaching diploma and a TET qualification. This is one of the biggest teacher recruitment drives in Chhattisgarh in recent years, so if you have been waiting for a stable government teaching job in the state, this is worth applying for.

Vacancy Breakdown by Cadre

• T-Cadre (Scheduled Area districts – Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, Kanker, Narayanpur, Sukma, Surguja, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Korea, Jashpur, Korba, Raigarh, Gariaband, Balod): 1,497 posts
• E-Cadre (Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Raipur, Mahasamund, Durg, Balod, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Raigarh, Bilaspur): 795 posts

Both cadres are placed in Pay Matrix Level-6. Reservation includes 30% horizontal reservation for women (widow/divorced women candidates get preference within this quota), 7% for Persons with Disabilities, plus category-wise reservation for SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen candidates as per Chhattisgarh government rules. Note that the number of posts in each district is provisional and can change before the final selection list is released.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks + a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) — OR 45% marks with an NCTE-recognised D.El.Ed — OR Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed — OR Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 2-year Special Education Diploma — OR a Graduate degree + 2-year D.El.Ed.
• Teacher Eligibility Test: You must have passed CTET or CG TET (Primary Level) as per NCTE guidelines.
• Domicile: You need a Chhattisgarh local residence certificate.
• Other conditions: You must clear a medical fitness check and character/police verification before joining, and you should not have married below the legally prescribed minimum age.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 35 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates of Chhattisgarh get up to 5 years relaxation. Women candidates get up to 10 years relaxation. Regular/temporary Chhattisgarh government employees can apply up to 38 years. Ex-servicemen and retrenched government employees get relaxation equal to their prior service period, subject to conditions.
• After adding all applicable relaxations, your age cannot exceed 45 years.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary under Pay Matrix Level-6, with a starting basic pay of Rs. 35,400 per month.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances as per Chhattisgarh Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Exam (LSAT26): 100 objective (MCQ) questions for 100 marks, to be completed in about 2 hours 15 minutes. The exam covers Hindi, English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Child Development & Pedagogy, General Studies, Computer Education, and Chhattisgarh General Knowledge. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates, caste certificates, and a Chhattisgarh domicile certificate.

You will also need to clear a medical fitness test before joining. Selected candidates are placed on probation for 3 years (extendable by 1 year if performance is unsatisfactory). The final selection list stays valid for 6 months from the date it is released, and a waiting list (up to 25% of vacancies per category) stays valid for 9 months. The written exam is tentatively scheduled for 11 October 2026.

3. Fill in the online application form for LSAT26 (Sahayak Shikshak).

5. Pay the application fee online.
6. Submit the form and keep a printout for your records.

Make sure your required certificates are ready before the last date to apply — you cannot submit them after the deadline.
