About This Job

JIPMER Puducherry is hiring 1 Clinical Trial Coordinator on a contract basis for the PiN-II Trial project in the Department of Medical Oncology. JIPMER Clinical Trial Coordinator Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has released Advertisement No. JIP/Med Onco/PIN II study/CTC-2026-1 dated 20 April 2026 for 1 Clinical Trial Coordinator post under the PiN-II Trial project. This project — titled "Pyridoxine in Prevention of Nausea in Patients on Highly Emetogenic Chemotherapy, a Phase III Randomized Double-blind Placebo-controlled Trial" — is funded by the Tata Memorial Trust and is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Prasanth Ganesan. This is a purely contractual position for approximately 1 year with no claim to a regular post at JIPMER. Candidates with a life sciences background and experience working with patients or in cancer research are encouraged to apply.

  • Qualification: Degree in Life Sciences from a recognised university or institution
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the medical field (working with patients) or in medical research

Desirable Qualifications

  • Prior clinical trial experience is preferred
  • Experience working in the cancer field or with cancer patients
  • GCP (Good Clinical Practice) training certification

Age Limit

Salary

  • Consolidated salary of Rs. 22,000 per month
  • No other allowances are payable beyond the consolidated amount
  • Pay is as per the norms fixed by the Tata Memorial Trust (funding agency) and may vary at their discretion
  • This is a project-based position for the duration of the trial (approximately 1 year)

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their application, CV, and supporting documents. Shortlisted candidates' names will also be displayed on the JIPMER website. Only shortlisted candidates are invited for the written test.
  2. Written Test — 11 May 2026 at 9 AM: The test covers basic knowledge of cancer, clinical research and GCP principles, patient care skills, the consenting process, and drug storage. Venue: Dept of Medical Oncology, SS Block, JIPMER, Puducherry-605006.
  3. Interview — same day (11 May 2026): Selected candidates appear for the interview on the same day. It assesses your ability to interact with patients and handle real clinical research situations.

Note: No TA/DA is paid for attending the test or interview. If a large number of applications are received, more stringent shortlisting criteria may be applied. The decision of the Project Investigator is final.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up with patients recruited in the PiN-II Trial project as per the study protocol
  • Coordinate patient treatment schedules and manage appointments with the research team
  • Collect and enter study-related data accurately into the trial database
  • Coordinate with other clinical centers involved in the trial to ensure data consistency
  • Check data entries for errors and work with the Principal Investigator to resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in patient consenting activities by explaining study procedures clearly in Tamil
  • Maintain all trial-related documents and records as per GCP guidelines
  • Report adverse events or protocol deviations promptly to the Principal Investigator

Minimum Qualification

Degree in Life Sciences with 2 years experience in Medical or Medical Research field

Preferred Qualification

Clinical trial experience, experience in cancer field or with cancer patients, GCP training certification

Exam Pattern

The selection process has 3 stages — shortlisting, written test, and interview.
