About This Job

The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Latehar has announced walk-in interviews for Guest Teacher (PGT, TGT, and PET) positions in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across Latehar district, Jharkhand. These posts are for the academic session 2026-27 and cover 14 different subject areas. You can earn up to Rs. 35,000 per month as a PGT and up to Rs. 33,000 per month as a TGT. Walk-in interviews will be held from 15 April to 18 April 2026 at the ITDA office in Latehar.

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, runs Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country. ITDA Latehar is now hiring Guest Teachers for three EMRS schools in the district — EMRS Negain (Latehar), EMRS Mangra (Barwadih), and EMRS Hethatoli (Garu). Who Can Apply?

For PGT Posts (English, Maths, History, Physics)

You need one of the following:

  • Integrated Post Graduate Course from an NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, including B.Ed. component
  • Post Graduation (Master's Degree) from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, AND B.Ed. Degree from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks OR 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks
  • 4-year Integrated Graduation Degree with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized institution including B.Ed. component

Subject-wise Master's Degree requirements:

  • PGT English: Master's in English
  • PGT Maths: Master's in Mathematics or any specialization in Mathematics (must have studied Maths at Graduation level)
  • PGT History: Master's in History or any specialization in History (must have studied History at Graduation level)
  • PGT Physics: Master's in Physics or any specialization in Physics (must have studied Physics at Graduation level)

For TGT Posts (Hindi, Sanskrit, Maths, Science, Social Science)

You need one of the following:

  • 4-year Integrated Graduation Degree from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks in all subjects individually and in aggregate
  • Bachelor's/Honours Degree from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks in all subjects individually and in aggregate
  • Post Graduation in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks, plus 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks
  • B.Ed. Degree from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks, OR 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. with at least 50% marks
  • CTET Paper-II (Class 6-8) qualified

For TGT Computer Science

  • BCA with at least 50% marks from a recognized institution, OR
  • Graduation in Computer Science/IT with at least 50% marks (CS must be main subject in all years), OR
  • BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/IT with at least 50% marks

For TGT Art

  • Bachelor's degree in Drawing and Painting/Sculpture/Graphic Art/Fine Arts/Visual Art with at least 50% marks (Drawing and Painting as Main Subject in all 3 years)

For TGT Music

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music/Performing Arts from a UGC recognized institution with at least 50% marks (Music as main subject in all 3 years)

For PET Male and PET Female

  • 4-year Integrated B.P.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks, OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education/Sports from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks (Physical Education in all 3 years) along with 1-year B.P.Ed., OR
  • Bachelor's degree with Physical Education as elective (50% marks) plus participation in National/State/Inter-University competitions, along with 1-year B.P.Ed.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 60 years
  • Age as on: 31 March 2026
  • Retired teachers from NVS/KVS/State Government/recognized reputed CBSE schools can also apply — maximum age limit for them is 65 years (must be medically fit for residential school work)

Salary

Guest Teachers will get a consolidated monthly salary as follows:

  • PGT (with NESTS qualification): Rs. 35,000 per month
  • PGT (without NESTS qualification): Rs. 31,000 per month
  • TGT (with NESTS qualification): Rs. 33,000 per month
  • TGT (without NESTS qualification): Rs. 29,000 per month

Note: This is a consolidated amount. There is no HRA, DA, or other allowances beyond the consolidated pay.

Selection Process

Responsibilities

  • Handle regular classroom teaching, remedial classes, and supervised study sessions for students
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials as per the EMRS curriculum and NESTS guidelines
  • Manage copy correction, assignments, and evaluation of students on a regular basis
  • Assist in co-curricular activities, sports activities, and other school events
  • Follow duties assigned by the Principal including escorting duty and hostel supervision
  • Monitor student progress and maintain academic records as required by the school
  • Work in a residential school setup and remain available as per the needs of the school

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Post Graduation with B.Ed. for PGT; Graduation with B.Ed./CTET for TGT; B.P.Ed. for PET — all with minimum 50% marks from recognized institutions

Age Limit

21 - 60 years (as on 31 Mar 2026)

Age Relaxation:

  • Retired Teachers (NVS/KVS/State Govt/CBSE Schools): Up to 65 years (must be medically fit)
