IOB Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) is recruiting generalist and specialist officers for branches, technology teams, security functions and risk or credit operations. The drive spans Junior Management Grade Scale I and Middle Management Grade Scales II and III, giving experienced professionals entry points that match both their domain and seniority. Branch Management is the generalist stream, while every other stream asks for a specialist qualification, relevant work record or service background. Selected officers can be posted or transferred anywhere in India as the bank's operational needs change.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Branch Management: generalist banking leadership for officers with scheduled-bank experience, followed by responsibility as a branch head.
  • Information Technology: manager and senior-manager roles across application development, infrastructure, cloud, databases, automation, service management, continuity planning, DevOps and IT procurement.
  • Information Security and IS Audit: roles covering security testing, secure development, audit, cyber-risk review and control assurance.
  • Database, Network and Cyber Security Administration: senior operational roles supporting production databases, enterprise networks, firewalls, incident response and security platforms.
  • Credit: manager and senior-manager work in appraisal and monitoring of MSME or corporate advances.
  • Risk: enterprise financial-risk work suited to candidates with finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or recognised risk credentials.
  • Security: assistant-manager duties for eligible retired defence, paramilitary or police personnel with the required service record and computer background.

Post-wise Duties

Branch and Credit Officers

You will handle customer-facing banking and credit decisions, monitor branch or lending performance, and apply the bank's operational and risk controls. Branch managers move into branch-head responsibility after probation, while credit officers focus on appraisal, portfolio quality and advances.

Technology Officers

You will keep mission-critical banking technology secure, available and scalable. Depending on the stream, your work may cover software and APIs, operating systems, cloud, storage, databases, networks, automation, service management, disaster recovery or technology procurement.

Information Security and Audit Officers

You will test applications and infrastructure, review secure-development practices, examine controls and help the bank respond to cybersecurity and compliance risks. Senior roles add responsibility for complex environments, production incidents and specialist teams.

Risk and Security Officers

You will protect the bank through financial-risk analysis or physical-security oversight. Risk officers work across credit, treasury, forex and finance exposure, while Security Officers draw on prior uniformed-service experience to manage safety and vigilance duties.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Posting and transfer: appointment may be at any IOB branch or office in India, with later transfers decided by the bank.
  • Probation: the Branch Management post has a shorter active-service probation, the Security Officer post has a longer probation, and the remaining officer streams follow the bank's standard officer probation stated in the notice.
  • Service bond: selected JMGS I officers execute a Rs. 2,00,000 bond, while MMGS II and III officers execute a Rs. 2,50,000 bond; both carry the prescribed minimum active-service commitment.
  • Vacancy status: the bank may increase or decrease the notified positions according to actual requirements.
  • Specialist facilities: eligible lateral specialist officers may receive conveyance, newspaper, telephone, furniture and accommodation-related facilities under the bank's rules.
  • Final appointment: selection remains subject to medical fitness and satisfactory character, antecedent and category verification.

  • Manage branch, credit, technology, security or risk work for the assigned officer stream
  • Apply banking policies, regulatory controls and approved operating procedures
  • Monitor service quality, system reliability, portfolio health or security indicators
