IIT ISM Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT ISM) is recruiting a Project Assistant for a sponsored project in the Department of Electronics Engineering. The project focuses on building human resources in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), including drones and related technologies, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Professor Ravi Kumar Gangwar leads the project at IIT ISM Dhanbad. This is a project-linked engagement that brings together drone electronics, product development and technical training, with laboratory work forming part of the project environment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The notice sets a term of 1.5 years or until the project finishes, whichever comes first. The earlier endpoint governs the engagement.
- Project focus: The work combines drone technology research with human-resource development. Training programmes and bootcamps sit alongside the product-development activities described for the project.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), a three-year diploma in Electronics Engineering, or a higher degree, with a good academic background.
Preferred Qualification
Experience in drone technologies and good communication skills.
Required Skills
Knowledge or skills in one or more of: electronics and electronic circuits, embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors and instrumentation, programming, UAV/drone technology, circuit assembly and testing, or hardware troubleshooting.
Age Limit
Up to 25 years
