NU Research Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Nalanda University (NU), Rajgir, is hiring Research Assistants for its Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) project on traditional coastal navigation practices in cyclone-prone regions of India. These are non-teaching project appointments at an international university established under the Ministry of External Affairs. The engagement is tied to the research project, with continuation depending on your performance and the needs of the project.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your contract starts with six months. Extensions depend on a performance review and the project requirements.
• Overall limit: The engagement can run for a maximum of two years or end with the project. An extension is conditional.
• Joining: If selected, you must be ready to join immediately. Keep this in mind when planning your availability.
• Travel costs: The university will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the selection process.
• University discretion: NU may change the number of positions or decide not to fill them. A recommendation from the interview committee does not itself give you a right to an appointment letter.
• Communication: Shortlisting and selection messages will reach you by email. Use an active address and check it regularly, since the university sends individual updates through that route.

Application Submission Notes

• Account prerequisite: Sign in to a Gmail account before opening the Google Form. NU does not accept a paper application.
• Mandatory email forward: Forward the submitted form copy received in your inbox to recruitment@nalandauniv.edu.in using the same email address as your application. Do not replace the forward with a newly composed email.
• Attachment format: Send the supporting material as one clearly scanned, legible and printable PDF with that forward. Multiple attachments, compressed files and separate part-wise emails can lead to rejection.
• Completion rule: Filling the Google Form alone does not complete your application. The required forward and attachment must also reach the Recruitment Cell.
• Single application: Send only one application for the post. Duplicate applications or repeated emails may be rejected.
