Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a sponsored titanium-alloy research project in its Department of Fuel, Minerals and Metallurgical Engineering. The project focuses on dissimilar alloys made through wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) for aerospace structures, with Dr. Vivek Kumar Sahu as the principal investigator. This is a project-based research engagement that connects the study of material structure with how the material behaves under mechanical loading.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project context: The work comes under an ANRF-ECRG sponsored project identified as SRDP 1332 G. Its technical focus is the combination of Ti6Al4V and Ti6Al2Sn4Zr2Mo0.1Si alloys and their suitability for aerospace structural use.
• Project duration: The notice gives the project a three-year tenure. Keep this project duration in mind when considering the research opportunity and your longer-term study plans.
