IISER Kolkata Intern Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata), set up in 2006 under the Ministry of Education, is taking on Interns on Project Mode for a short stint at its campus in Mohanpur, Nadia (West Bengal). The work is mostly IT and data-entry support: building and updating databases, digitising official records and handling data for the institute. It is a three-month engagement running from 2 November 2026 to 31 January 2027, which suits a fresh graduate who is comfortable with computers and wants hands-on office experience at a national institute.

You do not need prior work experience to be eligible, but the institute says it will value strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills, good written and spoken English, and any earlier work in data management or record digitisation.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Short and temporary: The internship is purely temporary and contractual for the fixed period only. It gives no right to regular appointment, absorption or regularisation, and no service benefits beyond the agreed terms.
• Consolidated pay: The monthly amount is consolidated, with no separate allowances.
• No accommodation: IISER Kolkata will not provide housing during the internship, so plan your stay near Mohanpur.
• Character check: Your character and antecedents may be verified at any point. False or forged documents, hidden facts or an adverse record lead to immediate termination without notice.
• Institute's discretion: IISER Kolkata can change, cancel or postpone the process or leave positions unfilled, and its decision on eligibility and selection is final.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
