IIMC is hiring 25 Academic-cum-Teaching Associates on contract basis for its campuses at New Delhi, Dhenkanal, Kottayam, Amravati, Jammu and Aizawl. Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), a deemed-to-be university, has released Advertisement No. 02/2026(C) for Academic-cum-Teaching Associate posts. The engagement is for 2 academic semesters, and retention beyond the first semester depends on performance. Language journalism positions are also included for Urdu, Odia, Malayalam and Marathi at specified campuses.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Option 1: Master's degree with at least 55% marks in Journalism, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Management, Public Relations, Digital Media, Public Health, Social Sciences, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Advertising, Strategic Communication or other listed allied subjects.
• Option 2: Graduate in any subject with at least 55% marks plus a PG Diploma in Mass Media, Journalism and Mass Communication, Strategic Branding, Media Relations, Digital Media or related listed disciplines.
• Preferred: Candidates with UGC NET or Ph.D. will get preference.

Experience and Language

• Experience: Minimum 1 year teaching or industry experience in a reputed media organisation or relevant discipline.
• Language: You should be proficient in Hindi and English.
• Regional Campus: If you apply for a regional campus or language journalism position, you need proficiency in the language concerned for that area.

Age Limit

• Preferred age is below 40 years on the last date of receipt of application.
• The notification does not mention separate category-wise age relaxation for this contract engagement.

Salary

• Selected Academic-cum-Teaching Associates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000 per month.
• This is a temporary contract engagement, not a regular appointment.
• Services can be ended by either side with 1 month's notice or payment in lieu of notice.

• Application fee: Rs. 500.
• Payment can be made through a Demand Draft in favour of Indian Institute of Mass Communication payable at New Delhi.
• You can also deposit the fee online in the bank account given in the notification and attach proof of payment.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process

IIMC will conduct the selection through an online interview. The platform and interview details will be shared with shortlisted candidates later.

1. Application Screening: IIMC checks the application form, CV, qualification, experience and fee proof.
2. Shortlisting: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on the post, campus and required specialisation.
3. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear for the interview as informed by IIMC.
4. Final Engagement: Selection is based on interview performance and document verification.

• Follow office timings, biometric attendance and IIMC academic rules
• Prepare academic records, reports and communication as required by the course team
