Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Deemed to be University, has released an official notice for one year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The recruitment covers Graduate Apprentice (Library) and Graduate Apprentice (Office Assistant) posts. These are apprenticeship training positions, and IIMC has clearly stated that the training does not lead to absorption or employment after completion.

Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentice (Library)

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Library & Information Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
• Computer Knowledge: You need knowledge of computer applications.
• Desirable Skill: Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or Hindi is desirable.

For Graduate Apprentice (Office Assistant)

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
• Computer Knowledge: You need knowledge of computer applications.
• Desirable Skill: Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or Hindi is desirable.

Other Conditions

• NATS Enrollment: You must enroll on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal before applying.
• Passing Year: Only applicants who passed in 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are considered. Result-awaited 2026 applicants are also covered.
• Past Apprenticeship: If you have already completed apprenticeship training in any institute or organisation, you cannot apply.
• Delhi Preference: Since the positions are at IIMC Headquarters, New Delhi, the notice says applications will be considered from those who opted Delhi preference for the selection process.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 28 years old on the date of written test, personal interview, or skill test.
• SC/ST: Age relaxation up to 5 years.
• OBC: Age relaxation up to 3 years.
• PwBD: Age relaxation is 10, 15, or 13 years as applicable.

Stipend

• Graduate Apprentice (Library): Rs. 12,300 per month.
• Graduate Apprentice (Office Assistant): Rs. 12,300 per month.
• Working Hours: Institute timings are 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM.
• Leave: Apprentices get 8 days casual leave during the one-year training period.
• Overtime: No overtime payment is given during the apprenticeship period.

Selection Process

IIMC will shortlist applicants based on merit in the essential qualification and then use one or more selection stages.

1. Shortlisting: Marks or percentage in the essential qualification will be used for initial shortlisting.
2. Written Test / Personal Interview / Skill Test: The final mode may change as per IIMC's requirement.
3. Certificate Verification: Shortlisted applicants must bring original certificates during verification or interview.
4. Offer Letter / Email: Only selected applicants will be informed through offer letter or email.
