IIMB Research Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is hiring a Research Manager for its Centre for Health Economics and Policy, which sits inside the institute's Centre for Public Policy. The centre produces research that helps strengthen India's health systems, covering universal health coverage, primary health care, health financing and insurance, and digital health. The post is a full-time consultant engagement, not a regular faculty or staff post.
You would be the person who keeps the centre's projects moving day to day. Working under the centre's leadership, you plan and run projects from start to finish, managing timelines, budgets, partners and staff, so that research reaches funders and partners on time and at a high standard.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Engagement type: The role is offered as a full-time consultant position.
- Preferred profile: A Ph.D. is preferred over a postgraduate degree alone, and experience in the health, public-policy or development sectors is preferred.
- Track record: You should be able to show that you have managed research projects and delivered work involving several stakeholders on deadline.
- Desirable knowledge: Familiarity with India's health systems and health-policy environment, and with budgeting and grants administration, counts in your favour.
- Work style: The centre is growing fast and works with many partners, so you should be comfortable switching between planning, field coordination and delivery.

- Track project budgets and spending, and prepare donor and funder reports
- Liaise with partners, government bodies, funders and vendors on project matters
