IIM Lucknow has released notification for 2 Consultant posts — Consultant (Library Services) and Consultant (Secretarial Services). Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) Consultant Recruitment 2026 — 2 Posts

Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited online applications for 2 contractual Consultant positions at its Lucknow campus. This recruitment is specifically meant for eligible employees of Central Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Organisations who have already retired or are retiring within the next three months (i.e., up to 30 June 2026). Selection will be through interview only — there is no written exam. The contract is initially for one year, extendable by another year based on performance.

Note: These posts are exclusively for retired/retiring Central Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation employees. The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per the Institute's decision.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification (for both posts):

  • Education: You must be a Graduate from a reputed Institute or University in regular mode with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Experience: You need at least 8 years of experience in the relevant area/task in Pay Level 10 and above.
  • Employment Status: You must be a retired or soon-to-retire employee of a Central Government department, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation. You should have retired or be retiring within the next 3 months (up to 30 June 2026).
  • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 62 years
  • The crucial date for determining the age limit is the closing date for receipt of applications (18 April 2026).

Salary

  • You will receive a fixed monthly emolument, calculated by deducting your basic pension from the pay you were drawing at the time of retirement.
  • You will also get Transport Allowance for commuting between your residence and the workplace, not exceeding the rate applicable at the time of retirement.
  • Since you need experience at Pay Level 10 and above (basic pay starting from Rs. 56,100 under 7th CPC), the emolument will vary based on your individual last-drawn pay and pension amount.

Selection will be done through interview only:

  • Handle day-to-day library operations including cataloguing, classification, and book circulation (Library Services)
  • Manage digital library resources, e-journals, and online databases (Library Services)
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and official communications (Secretarial Services)
  • Assist senior officers with scheduling, file management, and administrative coordination (Secretarial Services)
  • Maintain records, registers, and documentation as per institutional guidelines
  • Coordinate with departments for smooth functioning of assigned services
