Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur) — one of India's oldest engineering institutes and now an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education — is hiring a Senior Research Fellow for the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (ETCE). The post supports the ANRF-funded project "Scalable Manufacturing of Wrinkled Graphene FET Array with Fluidic Interface for Trace Exosome Detection Towards Early Cancer Diagnosis", part of an eight-institution PAIR Network that studies structural, functional and biomaterials innovations. This is a research role tied to a live, funded project rather than a permanent institute position — the work combines electronics fabrication with biosensor design aimed at early cancer detection. Candidates from biomedical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, nanotechnology or electronics backgrounds who enjoy hands-on device fabrication and lab work should apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Selection mode: There is no separate application form — you attend a walk-in interview directly, though the department may shortlist candidates from the emailed documents beforehand.
• Document check: All documents emailed in advance must be self-attested; your original documents are verified only at the time of joining, and the offer is cancelled if any discrepancy turns up at that stage.
• Tenure: The fellowship runs for up to five years, or until the project itself ends — whichever comes first. It does not carry any assurance of a permanent institute position afterward.

• Design and fabricate the wrinkled graphene FET array structures for the project
• Set up and run fluidic-interface experiments for trace exosome detection
• Record and analyze experimental data from the biosensor devices

• Coordinate with partner institutions under the PAIR Network
