IDSJ has released a revised advertisement for 4 Research Assistant positions under a research study titled "Boosting and Improving the Rajasthan State Energy Efficiency Index: An Exploration into Intervention from Better-Performing States". The study looks at how other Indian states have improved their energy efficiency performance, and what lessons Rajasthan can use to boost its own ranking. Two positions are for a 9-month period and two positions are for a 5-month period. As a Research Assistant, you will help with literature review, secondary data compilation, field surveys, statistical analysis, report writing, and policy analysis for this project — tasks that feed directly into the final index study. This is a solid opportunity for postgraduates in economics, energy studies, environmental studies, public policy, development studies, statistics, or geography to gain hands-on applied research experience on a state-focused policy project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a postgraduate degree in Economics, Energy Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Development Studies, Statistics, Geography, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.
• Desirable: Knowledge of MS Excel, experience in data collection, statistical analysis, report writing and literature review, and good communication skills.
• Even if you do not have prior research experience, you can still apply as long as you meet the minimum qualification — the desirable skills simply strengthen your application.
• The minimum qualification requirement may be relaxed for exceptionally suitable candidates, at the Institute's discretion, and the remuneration will be decided accordingly in such cases.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a monthly remuneration of Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 35,000, depending on your qualification and experience.
• The exact remuneration within this range will depend on which of the four Research Assistant slots you are selected for.
• Two positions are for a duration of 9 months and two positions are for a duration of 5 months.
• This is a project-based contract role tied to the research study and does not carry other government service benefits.
