ICDS Puintala Anganwadi Sahayika Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Puintala in Balangir district, Odisha, is filling an Anganwadi Sahayika (helper) post. The opening is at the Bhaler-1 Anganwadi Centre in Bhaler village, whose service area runs from the house of Ramakanta Nayak (house no. 001) to Subal Das (house no. 209).

This is a women-only, village-level post, so only women living inside that service area can apply. Selection follows the Women and Child Development Department's guideline letters of 2023 and 2024, which make the Class 12 marks the main basis of the merit list. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Women only: Only female candidates can apply.
• Residence: You must be a permanent resident of the Bhaler-1 centre area, and your household must appear in that centre's survey list.
• Odia language: You must read, write and speak Odia. You also need proof: Odia as a language subject in the HSC or +2 exam, Odia as the exam medium for HSC or an equivalent exam, Odia as a language subject in a recognised Class 7 exam, or a pass in Odia in the Middle English School Standard exam.
• Willingness to work: You should be ready to cook and feed the children and help the Anganwadi Worker with the centre's daily work.
• Nature of post: The post is fully temporary. You get an honorarium fixed by the Odisha government, not a regular pay scale.
• Reservation: The Odisha reservation law (ORV Act) does not apply here. In villages where SC, ST or OBC families are the majority, the helper may come from that majority community.
• Merit and bonus points: The merit list uses your Class 12 percentage. If you failed a subject in your first attempt, those marks are replaced by the marks you got when you later passed it. Extra points are added: 10 for SC/ST, 10 for widows, 10 for orphan girls, and 5 each for destitute, divorced or abandoned women and for a higher qualification.
• Objections: After verification, the list of valid candidates goes up on the portal. You get seven days to raise an objection about education, caste or residence, with proof.
• Cancellation: The CDPO can postpone or cancel this advertisement without giving a reason.

Application Submission Notes

You can apply only online on the Odisha WCD Anganwadi engagement portal (engagement-awc.odisha.gov.in). Log in and upload all your certificates; a form without them will be rejected. Paper applications at the CDPO office are not accepted.

After you apply, you must come in person to the CDPO office, Puintala on 30 October 2026, between 10 AM and 3 PM, with your application form and all original documents. If you do not turn up, your application will be rejected. The office may change this verification date if needed.
