ICAR-CIRCOT Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR - Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT) is engaging a Young Professional-II for its CRP on Natural Fibres at Matunga, Mumbai. The role supports laboratory and analytical work connected with cotton and other fibrous biomass materials. It is a practical research-support opportunity for technology graduates or science postgraduates who are comfortable working with testing equipment, data and laboratory methods.

The institute is using a hybrid recruitment arrangement: you must email the prescribed application and records before attending the physical interview in Mumbai. Experience with cotton bleaching, cellulose extraction, biomass analysis, medical-textile testing or analytical instruments can make your application stronger, while computer and internet skills will help with routine project reporting.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: the first engagement is for one year and may be extended one year at a time for up to two more years, depending on need and a satisfactory performance review by the Director.
• No regular status: the Young Professional engagement is contractual and does not become a regular ICAR appointment.
• Place of work: you will be based at ICAR-CIRCOT in Matunga, Mumbai and will follow the working hours observed by regular institute staff.
• Attendance: continuous unauthorised absence can automatically end the contract, and working beyond normal office hours does not create a separate benefit.
• Leave: casual and restricted leave is available under the stated ICAR conditions; unused leave does not carry forward. Eligible women receive maternity leave under the applicable law, while the notice does not provide paternity leave.
• Confidentiality: the selected professional must follow India's secrecy requirements and sign a declaration of secrecy and a Non-Disclosure Agreement before reporting.
• Resignation: leaving before the contract ends normally needs one month's notice; otherwise, the competent authority may withhold one month's consolidated payment.
• Current employment: if you already work for a government or private organisation, bring a No Objection Certificate from that employer.
• Interview travel: the institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the selection interview.
