Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), under the Himachal Pradesh Power Sector Development Program supported by the World Bank, has invited applications from eligible female candidates for one-year apprenticeship training across 9 disciplines. This is a women-only recruitment drive aimed at building a skilled talent pool in the power sector and improving gender representation in technical and administrative roles at HPSEBL. If you are a fresh graduate or engineer looking to gain hands-on experience with a state electricity board, this is a good opportunity to start your career — though HPSEBL does not guarantee regular employment after the training ends, and filling up seats is entirely at the discretion of HPSEBL management based on candidate suitability.

Vacancy Breakdown by Discipline

Note: You can apply for only ONE trade/discipline. Applying for more than one trade will lead to rejection of all your applications. You may also indicate a preference for up to 3 training locations within Himachal Pradesh; the final station is allotted based on merit and preference, subject to availability.

Who Can Apply?

• Gender: Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
• Qualification: Check the Vacancy Breakdown table above for the exact degree required for your chosen trade.
• Distance Education: Degrees obtained through Distance Learning, Part-Time or Correspondence mode will NOT be considered.
• Result Awaited: Candidates whose final results are still awaited cannot apply.
• Prior Training: If you have already completed apprenticeship training or have one year or more of job experience after your qualification, you are not eligible.
• Contact Details: You must have an active email ID and mobile number valid for at least the next one year, since all updates and corrigenda are shared only through the HPSEBL website.
• CGPA/Grade Conversion: If your Diploma or Degree marksheet shows a CGPA, OGPA or Letter Grade, you must convert it to the equivalent percentage as per your university's norms before filling the application form.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 31 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and PwD candidates get 5 years relaxation.

Salary

• Selected trainees will get a stipend of Rs. 12,300 per month.
• No other benefits such as HRA, conveyance, medical facility or accommodation will be provided during the training period.

Selection Process

There is no written exam — selection is based on screening of documents and a merit list. The stages are:

1. Document Screening: HPSEBL checks your application against the eligibility criteria for your chosen trade.
2. Merit List: Prepared using 20% weightage for Matriculation marks, 20% for 10+2/Diploma marks (whichever is higher), and 60% for your essential qualification marks — out of a total of 100 marks.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for verification in a ratio of 1:4 against each seat.
4. Medical Examination: You must submit a medical fitness certificate before joining.

If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate gets preference; if the date of birth also matches, higher matriculation marks decide the rank. The list of shortlisted candidates will be published only on the HPSEBL website, and no individual intimation will be sent. The decision of HPSEBL management on all matters relating to eligibility, selection, and cancellation is final and binding.

3. Attach your scanned application form along with your certificates.
4. Email the completed application to apprenticeship@hpseb.in.
