Who Can Apply?

Arts, Sciences, Commerce, and Management Subjects

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with 55% marks in the concerned, relevant, or allied subject.
• NET/SLET/SET: You must have cleared NET, SLET, SET, or an equivalent accredited test unless you are exempted under UGC Ph.D. rules.
• Ph.D. Exemption: Candidates with Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notice.
• Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, and differently-abled candidates get 5% marks relaxation as per rules.

Architecture

• Option 1: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B.Arch with minimum 60% marks and 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Option 2: B.Arch or equivalent plus Master's Degree in Architecture or allied subjects with minimum 60% marks at either level and 1 year of relevant professional experience.

Other Conditions

• Gujarati: Knowledge of Gujarati is essential.
• Academic Score: Assistant Professor applicants must submit 3 copies of the academic score proforma with supporting documents.
• Eligibility Date: Qualification, experience, and other eligibility will be counted as on 15 June 2026.

Selection Process

HNGU will follow the teaching post selection process under the applicable university statute and government rules. Shortlisting will use academic score and eligibility documents, and final selection will be based on the interview process.

2. Academic Score Shortlisting: Assistant Professor candidates are shortlisted using the UGC Appendix II Table 3A academic score wherever applicable.
3. Screening Test, if Needed: The University may hold a screening test for Assistant Professor posts wherever necessary. Syllabus and schedule will be posted on the University website.
4. Interview: Suitable candidates may be called in the ratio of 1:15 for interview. If the qualified pool is fewer than that, all qualified candidates may be called.
5. Document Verification: Original testimonials, educational certificates, experience proof, category certificates, disability certificates, and NOC will be checked at interview.
