HNBGU has released Notification No. HNBGU/RECT/NT/2026/55 dated 07 August 2026 to fill 27 vacant Non-Teaching Group B posts on direct recruitment basis. The posts span administration (Assistant, Private Secretary, Personal Assistant), engineering (Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer - Civil and Electrical), technical roles (Senior Technical Assistant in Auto CAD, HAPPRC and ICT), and specialist positions (Horticulturist, Assistant Information & Public Relation Officer, and Sports Coach). Applications must be submitted online only — no hard copy needs to be sent to the university. This is a good opportunity for graduates and postgraduates with relevant work experience to join a Central University.

Of the 27 posts, 19 are Unreserved, 2 for SC, 5 for OBC-NCL and 1 for EWS, with 2 posts reserved for PwBD candidates (Locomotor Disability and Low Vision).

Who Can Apply?

Assistant (12 Posts, Level 6, Age up to 35):

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university, plus at least 3 years' experience as UDC (or 8 years as LDC) in a Central/State Government, University or PSU.
• Working knowledge of computer applications, noting and drafting.

Private Secretary / Personal Assistant (2 Posts, Level 6-7, Age up to 35):

• Bachelor's degree with stenography speed of 100-120 wpm and typing speed of 30-35 wpm in English/Hindi.
• 2-3 years' experience as Stenographer/Personal Assistant in a Government, University or reputed private organization.

Technical Assistants - Auto CAD / HAPPRC / ICT (5 Posts, Level 6, Age up to 35):

• B.Tech/M.Sc in the relevant field (Computer Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, etc.) with a diploma or 3 years' relevant experience, depending on the post.

Engineers - Assistant Engineer / Junior Engineer (4 Posts, Level 6-7, Age up to 35-40):

• Bachelor's degree (or Diploma with extra experience) in Civil/Electrical Engineering, with 1-3 years' relevant experience in a government or private organization.

Horticulturist, AIPRO, Sports Coach (3 Posts, Level 6-7, Age up to 35-40):

• Master's degree in the relevant specialization (Horticulture/Agriculture, Journalism & Mass Communication, or Physical Education) with 2-5 years' relevant experience.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 35 years for most posts, and 40 years for Assistant Engineer (Civil), Horticulturist, and Assistant Information & Public Relation Officer.
• Age will be calculated as on the last date of online application (16 September 2026).
• Age Relaxation: As per DoPT/Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates, and as per HNBGU's own Cadre Recruitment Rules for existing university employees.

Salary

• Pay Level 6: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month.
• Pay Level 7: Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government/UGC rules.

Application Fee

• UR / OBC / EWS category: Rs. 1,000
• SC / ST / PwBD category and Women applicants: Rs. 500
• Payment mode: Online only, through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded. If you apply for more than one post, you must pay the fee separately for each post.

Selection Process

Selection is mainly based on screening of your qualifications and experience:

1. Screening: A Screening Committee checks all applications against the eligibility criteria and prepares a list of eligible candidates.
2. Skill Test: For Private Secretary and Personal Assistant posts, you must clear a stenography and typing skill test on computer.
3. Written/Skill Test (if conducted): The university may conduct a written test or skill test for other posts at its discretion, as per the Cadre Recruitment Rules.

Note: As per Government of India norms, there is no interview for Group B and C posts carrying Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600 or less, which covers all posts in this recruitment.
