High Explosives Factory (HEF) Khadki Chemical Process Worker (CPW) Recruitment 2026 - 85 Posts
High Explosives Factory, Khadki, Pune - a unit of Munitions India Limited (MIL), one of the defence PSUs formed from the Ordnance Factory Board - has released a notification for 85 Chemical Process Worker (CPW) posts on a tenure basis. These are contract engagements for one year, extendable up to a maximum of four years depending on factory requirement and your performance. Top priority goes to AOCP (Attendant Operator Chemical Plant) trade apprentices trained in Ordnance Factories under MIL, but candidates from several feeder trades, including Fitter General, Machinist, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Boiler Attendant and Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, can also apply. Selected candidates will work directly with the manufacturing and handling of explosives and hazardous chemicals, so safety training is a mandatory part of the engagement, and either party can end the engagement by giving one month's notice.

- If your performance rating falls below satisfactory, you get 3 months to improve before any decision on continuation of your engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on your NAC marksheet and a Trade Test, not a written exam:
- NAC (NCVT) Marksheet Evaluation: Carries 80% weightage in the final merit. HEF Khadki may set a cut-off percentage to decide who gets called for the Trade Test.
- Trade Test / Practical Test: Carries 20% weightage in the final merit.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates, in order of merit, must produce original certificates for age, qualification, category and experience. Additional candidates equal to the number rejected may be called from the merit list.
If you clear all stages successfully, you will undergo a one-month in-house training on safe handling of explosives and safety norms, followed by two months of On-Job training before being deployed to your specific role. Successful completion earns you a certificate valid across all MIL Group factories, which gives priority in any future engagement and means you will not need to repeat the training if re-engaged.
