GPSC Engineering Service (Civil) Recruitment 2026 -- 103 Posts

Gujarat Public Service Commission, the premier recruitment body for Class-1 and Class-2 posts in Gujarat, is hiring 103 civil engineers for two key state departments -- the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpasar Department, and the Road & Building Department. Vacancy Breakdown

Women reservation: Out of the total posts, 17 posts are reserved for women candidates (Gen: 2, EWS: 1, SEBC: 10, SC: 1, ST: 3).

PwD reservation: 1 post is reserved for persons with Multiple Disabilities (40-70%) under the First Priority category for Deputy Executive Engineer in Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpasar Department.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• You need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil) or Technology (Civil) -- i.e., B.E. (Civil) or B.Tech (Civil) from a recognized university.
• If you have appeared for the final exam and your result is awaited, you can still apply for the Preliminary Examination.
• You must have basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules 1967.
• You must know Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Nationality

• You must be an Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 20 years
• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age calculated as on: 15 April 2026 (last date of application)

Age Relaxation

• General category women: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• Male candidates of EWS, SEBC, SC & ST (Gujarat origin): 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• Women candidates of EWS, SEBC, SC & ST (Gujarat origin): 10 years relaxation (up to 45 years, includes 5 years women reservation relaxation)
• Unreserved (General) female candidates: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: Length of military service (minimum 5 years) + 3 years
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years relaxation (up to 45 years)
• Gujarat Government Employees: No relaxation in upper age limit

Salary

Executive Engineer (Civil), Class-1

• Pay Scale: Rs. 67,700 -- Rs. 2,08,700 (7th CPC, Level 11)
• Starting basic pay: Rs. 67,700 per month
• Approximate in-hand salary: Rs. 1,00,000+ per month (including DA, HRA, and other allowances)

Deputy Executive Engineer (Civil), Class-2

• Pay Scale: Rs. 53,100 -- Rs. 1,67,800 (7th CPC, Level 9)
• Starting basic pay: Rs. 53,100 per month
• Approximate in-hand salary: Rs. 80,000+ per month (including DA, HRA, and other allowances)

Both posts come with DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), TA (Transport Allowance), pension benefits, and other government allowances as per Gujarat government rules.

Application Fee

• Application Fee: Rs. 100/- + postal charges (for online payment)
• SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Female candidates: Exempted from application fee

Consent Deposit (Mandatory for Exam)

• Unreserved (General) candidates (including women): Rs. 3,500/- + Rs. 3,672/- transaction charges = Total Rs. 7,172/-
• Reserved category candidates (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwD): Rs. 3,600/- + Rs. 3,672/- transaction charges = Total Rs. 7,272/-
• You must submit the Consent Form and pay the Consent Deposit between 01/04/2026 (13:00 hrs) and 16/04/2026 (10:00 hrs) on gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
• The consent deposit is refundable after you appear for the examination.
• Payment modes: UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or Other Payment Mode.

Selection Process

The selection is through a 3-stage competitive examination:

1. Stage 1 -- Preliminary Examination (Screening Test, 500 Marks):
   • Paper-I: General Studies (100 marks) + Engineering Aptitude (100 marks) -- 2 hours
   • Paper-II: Civil Engineering (300 marks) -- 3 hours
   • Objective type (MCQ) questions
   • Paper-I Part-1 (General Studies) in Gujarati, Part-2 (Engineering Aptitude) and Paper-II in English
   • This is a screening test only -- marks do NOT count for final merit
   • About 15 times the total vacancies will be called for Main Exam
2. Stage 2 -- Main Examination (Written, 800 Marks):
   • Paper-I: Gujarati Language (100 marks) -- 2 hours
   • Paper-II: English Language (100 marks) -- 2 hours
   • Paper-III: Civil Engineering-I (200 marks) -- 3 hours
   • Paper-IV: Civil Engineering-II (200 marks) -- 3 hours
   • Paper-V: Civil Engineering-III (200 marks) -- 3 hours
   • Descriptive (conventional) type questions
   • Paper-I in Gujarati, Paper-II to V in English
3. Stage 3 -- Interview (100 Marks):
   • About 3 times the total vacancies will be called for interview
   • Marks from Main Exam + Interview determine your final ranking

3. Register with ONE TIME REGISTRATION if you are a new user, or log in with your existing credentials.
4. Fill in your Personal Details, Communication Details, Education Details, Experience Details, and upload your photo and signature.
5. Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online (exempted categories need not pay).
6. After confirmation, note down your Application Number and Confirmation Number.
7. Then submit the Consent Form and pay the Consent Deposit from the CONSENT menu on the OJAS portal before 16 April 2026, 10:00 AM.
8. Take a printout of your application, consent receipt, and fee challan for your records.
