Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released Advertisement No. 06/2026-27 for 20 Accounts Officer (Hisaabi Adhikari), Class-2 posts in the Gujarat Accounts Service under the Finance Department. This is a competitive examination-based recruitment with a three-stage selection process — Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), or you should be a Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (ICWA/CMA), or Company Secretary (CS) from a recognised university or institution in India.
• Computer Knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computer applications as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• Nationality: Indian citizen, Nepalese subject, Bhutanese subject, Tibetan refugee (settled in India before 1 Jan 1962), or person of Indian origin who migrated from certain countries with the intention to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 20 years old and not more than 37 years old as on 21 April 2026 (last date of application).
• Reserved category male (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) of Gujarat: 5 years relaxation (max 42 years)
• Reserved category female (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) of Gujarat: 10 years relaxation (max 45 years), includes 5 years female relaxation
• Unreserved category female: 5 years relaxation (max 42 years)
• PwBD candidates: 10 years relaxation (max 45 years)
• Government employees: No exclusive age relaxation for upper age limit

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month under Pay Matrix Level 8 of the Gujarat Government pay structure.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection is done through a 3-stage competitive examination:

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type): 2 papers, 400 marks total. Paper-1: General Studies (200 marks, 3 hours). Paper-2: Accountancy & Auditing (200 marks, 3 hours). This is a screening test — marks are not counted in final merit.
2. Main Examination (Written - Conventional Type): 5 papers, 900 marks total. Paper-1: Gujarati Language (150 marks), Paper-2: English Language (150 marks), Paper-3: General Studies-I (200 marks), Paper-4: Accountancy & Auditing-I (200 marks), Paper-5: Accountancy & Auditing-II (200 marks). Each paper is 3 hours. Papers 1 & 2 are in Gujarati & English respectively. Papers 3, 4, 5 are in both Gujarati and English.
3. Personal Interview (Viva-Voce): 100 marks. Candidates shortlisted from Main Exam are called for interview.

Final Merit = Main Examination Marks + Personal Interview Marks (total 1000 marks).

Note: Preliminary exam is only for screening. Based on prelim results, candidates are shortlisted at 15 times the vacancies for the Main Exam.

3. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) if you are a first-time user, or log in with your existing OTR.
4. Fill in Personal Details, Communication Details, Education Details, and Experience Details.
5. Upload your photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background, JPG format, max 10 KB) and signature (2.5 x 7.5 cm, JPG format, max 10 KB).
6. Pay the application fee online or through Post Office challan.
7. Submit the form and note down your Application Number and Confirmation Number.
8. Take a printout of the confirmed application for your records.
