Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has invited online applications for 56 posts across four departments: Directorate of Health Services, Commercial Tax Department, Forest Department, and the Goa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry. The largest chunk of vacancies (22 posts) is for State Tax Officer in the Commercial Tax Department. The veterinary college alone accounts for 31 positions spanning teaching, library, physical education, and farm management roles. Knowledge of Konkani is a mandatory requirement for all posts.

Who Can Apply?

For State Tax Officer (Level 7):

• Qualification: Degree from a recognized university, preferably in Commerce or Economics
• Additional: Associate Membership of ICAI OR 3 years experience in commercial accounts
• Desirable: Law degree, Knowledge of Marathi

For Assistant Conservator of Forest (Level 10):

• Qualification: Associateship Diploma from FRI Dehradun OR Bachelor's degree in Natural Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, or Engineering
• Physical Fitness: Minimum height 163 cm, chest 79 cm, ability to walk 25 km in 4 hours

For Professor (Level 14):

• Qualification: BVSc & AH + Master's Degree (55% marks) + Ph.D. in concerned subject
• Experience: At least 10 years in teaching/research (3 years as Associate Professor)
• Registration: VCI or State Veterinary Council

For Associate Professor (Level 13A):

• Qualification: BVSc & AH + Master's Degree (55% marks) + Ph.D. in concerned subject
• Experience: At least 8 years as regular Assistant Professor (3 years in Academic Level-12)
• Registration: VCI or State Veterinary Council

For Assistant Professor (Level 10):

• Qualification: BVSc & AH + Master's Degree (55% marks) + NET/SLET cleared
• Note: Ph.D. holders as per UGC norms are exempt from NET/SLET
• Registration: VCI or State Veterinary Council

For Assistant Malaria Officer (Level 7):

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Entomology or Zoology with specialization in Entomology
• Experience: At least 3 years in teaching/research/control in Medical Entomology or related field

For College Director of Physical Education (Level 10):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Physical Education and Sports (55% marks) + NET/SLET/SET
• Sports Record: Must have represented university/college at inter-university or state/national level

For College Librarian (Level 10):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Library Science/Information Science (55% marks) + NET/SLET/SET
• Skills: Knowledge of computerization of Library

For All Posts:

• Mandatory: Knowledge of Konkani is required for every post
• Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi is preferred for all posts

Age Limit

• Maximum age for most posts: 45 years
• Maximum age for Professor posts: 50 years
• Age relaxation for government employees is available as per Goa government rules

Salary

• Level 14 (Professor): Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month + 20% Non-Practice Allowance
• Level 13A (Associate Professor): Rs. 1,31,100 to Rs. 2,16,600 per month + 20% Non-Practice Allowance
• Level 10 (ACF, Assistant Professor, PE Director, Librarian): Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month (+ 20% NPA for veterinary posts)
• Level 7 (State Tax Officer, Asst Malaria Officer, Asst Farm Manager BVSc): Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month (+ 20% NPA for BVSc post)
• Level 6 (Asst Farm Manager BSc Agri): Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Goa government rules.

Physical Standards (Assistant Conservator of Forest only)

• Minimum Height: 163 cm
• Minimum Chest: 79 cm
• Physical Test: Walk 25 km to be covered in 4 hours
• Good physique with sound hearing and fitness for rough outdoor work is required

Selection Process

Selection is based on shortlisting and interview:

1. Shortlisting: Where the number of applications is large, the Commission will shortlist candidates to be called for interview as per the instructions on the GPSC website.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before the Commission.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified before the final recommendation.

There is no written exam for these posts. Selection is based on shortlisting and interview.
